Well, this might be a short entry, but I'm calling shark on Battlestar Galactica here in the near future.
Oh, how do I start?
First of all, I have to say that the Adama/Roslin part at the end of the episode was very close to making the whole thing worthwhile. Next week, I may still tune in to see how things progress with them. Not to mention, they're actually going to do something about Baltar (which scares the crap out of me.)
Secondly, I don't know if I could hate Lee more. Or maybe it's the writers. I can't really blame Lee for the writers deciding that all of a sudden the Adama boys were "abused" by their mother. Oh, angst, oh, agony, oh, please hand me that shark. Like there weren't enough issues for Lee to deal with (dead brother, dead civilization, dead marriage,) now we have to see him angsting over this? Plus, he's got about as much of a chance to be a good lawyer as Tigh has of being a decent, sober person. It might be in their blood, but they're just too stubborn for anything real to happen.
Okay, wait, lemme back that up. Lee might make an all right lawyer, but I sincerely doubt it. Evidence, you say? How about the fact that he said something to the effect of "I used to want to take up lawyer." It's drastically paraphrased, but when Lee decided that he was taking up a person, instead of an occupation, I lost it. Didn't the poor boy learn that lawyers practice law? And if he didn't, how does he ever expect to be able to do it?! (Then again, I could just be flying over the edge about very bad writing. In any case, if I ever actually run across the properly quoted line, I'll post it.)
And, finally, I could have done without the Tyrol and Cally basically being killed. I understand a need for drama and such, but that just seemed a little bit over the edge. Or, maybe it was just bad writing again.
In any case, I'm calling shark here in the next few episodes. It's going to be really hard for them to regain my respect without getting some better plotlines, and getting rid of that god-awful love-rock that they're playing during commercial break.
Ugh!
Okay, so maybe it wasn't short, but I could have gone on forever and ever about it, so.... Yeah.
