A rather strange dream woke me up very early this morning...
I watched Battlestar Galactica last night again, and it must have effected my brain. I swear, I don't usually dream about television shows unless I'm really into them, but this one seemed to come out of no where! And at five in the morning, no less!
So, anyway, it was a short dream, but interesting to say the least. I dreamt that instead of taking command of The Pegasus, Lee had left the Colonial Fleet behind and joined the insurgents on New Caprica. I think, mainly, the reason this type of thing popped into my head was because inaction of Lee's part just drives me crazy. I want to see him out there, doing something other than waiting for the opportunity to strike.
I've probably made it pretty obvious now that I've got a love/hate relationship when it comes to the character of Lee Adama. I've been a big Jamie Bamber fan for years now, and it's hard for me to resolve my issues with Lee, when Jamie Bamber usually plays characters that have a very strong will to fight and love, That is, not the say that Apollo doesn't, but he's been wavering between being a strong, enthusiastic character, and a total dick. However, he is a soldier, and it's what he's good at, when he's not angsting over how much everyone loves his father more than him.
I really could see him doing a good job as an insurgent on New Caprica, though. I think, when given the opportunity to really fight, down and dirty, he'd succeed a lot better than most people think. Granted, it would be detremental to his character, but he'd be good at it. He'd struggle a lot like Starbuck is doing in the show now -- constantly trying to resolve himself between being a soldier and not being able to be the ultimate soldier. He would turn hard pretty fast, and probably have issues with how little their fighting really effects the prisoners on New Caprica.
Anyway, enough of my ramblngs. I just figured that if the dream woke me up, it was worth writing about.
On a side note: Did anyone else watch The Venture Brothers?! Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, on my God! *pantpantpant* That cannot be the season finale. It just can't be. Someone please tell me that there'e one more episode, because I'm too afraid to look. If I have to wait another two years for them to resolve this plotline, I'm going to hold my breath until the premiere! Seriously, I'm going to have to.
On the other side note: The Steelers lost again. Go figure. Ben, do I have to illustratrate the differences between Steelers colors and Chargers colors? Three more interceptions?! What a hack! Get 'im out of there and bring back Tommy Maddox! At least he could tell the difference between purple and black...
