Youngest ensconced at W&M
Just back from leaving our youngest at William & Mary.
Met her roommate ( about whom I wrote a few months ago) and her family. We found Emily to be charmingly unjocklike (Everyone's straight on the difference between jock and athlete, right?) and her parents seemed nice as well. Her dad had that same athlete vibe, so I did a quick internet check and sure enough he played pro football about thirty years ago. Which is to say about five years after my last act of physical fitness. The two girls have nothing in common except a fondness for girlie decorations but from what we saw Valerie and I think their personalities are a good fit.
Speaking of personalities, also met the core cadre of Daya's anime club. First time we'd seen these people not in costume; remarkably lifelike.
Daya herself came alive on campus. seemingly energized by her surroundings. On the way home we missed her, but we also knew she was where she needed to be. It's clear she sees William & Mary as her home.
