Dear Internets,

I'm putting serious thought in to buying myself a HTC Hero phone.

Is this awesome? Y/N

Dear Lazyweb,

What is the difference between a Hero and the HD2? I realise one is on Android and the other is on Window Mobile but in terms of practical differences?

This handy little page should help give the basic differences. But also check out the videos and comparrisons on http://www.pocketnow.com

Complete with Apple logo? No wonder you're so popular with the girls. Maybe that's where I've gone wrong...I need an iCock.

They look great, but still run Windows Mob unfortunately, even though HTC try to disguise it :-(

Indeed but with WM7 just around the corner...

And to be fair, you hardly notice WM6.5 on the HD2. In the 3 weeks of hammering I've given it (and believe me, if software can break, I can break it) I've had no errors or lock ups or anything. Unlike when I was running a HP iPAQ.

I've used a Diamond, Diamond 2, Touch Pro, and HD, and they still all felt too much like Windows Mob with a thick veneer. HTC's softwas was just too superficial and underneath it was the horror of Windows Mob.

I hear the HD2 is a fast bugger though, and that would take away 50% of my WM troubles.

So fast it makes my eyes bleed. I'm not much of a phone buff and usually after a week of playing with a new phone i'm like "Meh"

But like I said, I just can't stop playing with it. Everytime I turn it on I find something new to marvel at.

That's how it is for me and the iPhone. Maybe we should double date?
