SINEMALAYO pays tribute to ROXLEE, the independent of all independent filmmakers in the Philippines. Featuring his latest works in digital format.
1. BATUMBUHAY. A short documentary on the the Father of Pinoy Rock, Joey “Pepe” Smith done in a rock & roll style filmmaking.
2. LEFT TURN . A paint-on-glass animation funded by the National Commission for Culture & the Arts.
3. GHOST OF JANIS THE ROCKER. Music video from Roxlee’s indie album of the same title. The lyrics & music composed by Roxlee himself while attending a film forum at Alliance Francaise.
4. ROMEO MUST ROCK. Rockumentry on the punk icon, who incidentally is Roxlee’s brother Romeo Lee a.k.a LEE. Note, the filmmaker never meet his subject while filming the documentary.
(ROXLEE will grace the occasion)
