Karate last night was lots of fun. Sensei started the class asking me for how many lessons I've had my orange belt (um...pick a number and double it, with sensei training then senior classes as well as regular classes...short answer, lots!) He's decided orange doesn't suit me any more, so he's intending to put me forward for grading in the new year. Green belt before I'm 30! Win! We did a bunch of actual self-defence work and looking at the practical application of karate in the real world. Lots of fun, lots of getting punched in the ribs (every time the exact same spot, his aim was impeccable!) and good preparation for sparring because I haven't done that in a long time. I'm thinking of looking at training twice a week from the new year - but at £6 per class that would get expensive. Also the second class would have to be on a week day because I'd need the car to get to it, and Gray needs it to get to Cov at weekends. I'll have to look at my class schedule and see what's out there on week days, preferably with a slightly later start time so I can get home, get changed, eat something quickly and get there in time. At the moment I'm getting home at 5.30 and have to be there ready to start at 6.30 - so basically, arrive 10 minutes early to sign in and pay up and whatever...a 7 o'clock start would be better. I could afford to train a lot more when I was doing it before because I was black and white belt and, as such, got free training!
Done some more on my Christmas afghan, it now has...a tree, an elephant (in a santa hat), a branch of mistletoe, a kitty (in a santa hat), a Christmas pudding, and a present on it. Six squares done out of 20, it's going to be ready for Christmas 2011.
I need to clear up my stitching room. Really really badly. Can hardly get in there at the moment, and my dinos fell off the stand the other day (poor little stand isn't strong enough to hold such a heavy design) so that's a mess. Hoping to do some of that tonight, around wrapping Christmas presents and things.
Fixed to visit my nana at the weekend :) the poor little car isn't going to know what's hit it. It's actually going to be doing Leicester - Coventry - Leicester on Saturday, then Leicester - Stoke - Newport - Leicester on Sunday, then being MOT'd and serviced on Monday. I would've got that done this week if I could!
