OK, so the word "stashmas" won't mean a lot to most of you. In fact, some particularly pedantic people (ooh I do love a nice bit of alliteration!) will be pointing out that it isn't actually a word. Well, no, it's more of a concept. Think, secret santa, but for cross stitchers. It's something that I and recent-friend-Dawn have been organising over at the
cross stitch forum.
The idea of Stashmas is that we spend around £10 (to be converted into local currency where appropriate, we've got people participating in this from the UK, the US, Australia and Hungary) on a "stash" gift, and also send something personal representing ourselves, our towns or, if sending internationally, our countries. I'm not sending internationally and, while some of the sights of Leicester are very nice, I don't feel a particular deep and abiding connection to the place. So, I have finally come up with my idea for my personal thing! I'm going to find a simple cross stitch of a cat, stitch it up, sign it Kute Kitty (my forum name) and send that :)
Go me.
