I find this hilarious.
My mother got drunk.
Let me put this into context.
My mother once told me she has only been drunk once in her life. Considering she was at university in the late 60's/early 70's I found that highly impressive. And of course the fact that I know that she's never done any kind of drugs because she told me that too and was honestly shocked when my dad refused to make such a statement.
Mum got drunk, at her work Christmas party. She'd taken a bottle of wine, you see, and no-one else was drinking it!
Slightly worrying that she then drove home despite not being able to walk in a straight line. Highly amusing though (in the context of all's well that ends well) that she got squiffed!
