You really have a way of wrong-footing me...

OK, Lynn's off sick still (hooray!) but Evelyn's spoken to her this morning. Lynn has told Evelyn that she wants me to "do my medical records thing" a couple of days a week. Evelyn passed this on to me in the (perfectly reasonable) understanding that it would mean something to me.

Fine, great. Except it doesn't.

She hasn't even mentioned the medical records thing to me in a month, and now she just throws that on me? What exactly does she mean? Does she want me to go over to Beaumont Leys and start getting things sorted out? Because that's all fine and dandy if she does but, I have nothing in place! Give me a little notice of this coming up and I would've given thought to things like how I'm going to organise the records and where I'm going to start with sorting them out and meeting with the sisters to see how my ideas mesh with their real-time working practices A week's notice would've been enough. And for God's sake, tell Louise! We're working here on the basis that I'm going to be here full-time, Louise is going to be here part-time, and we're going to cover all the secretary's jobs between us. Now you've thrown a huge fucking spanner in the works there with one simple little message that isn't actually remotely simple.

I'm going to think about it very seriously this afternoon while I'm covering New Parks reception. But my God, you have thrown me with that one.

In other news, I slept really well last night for the first time in a while. I hate my sleeping patterns, although they do mean I appreciate really good sleep.
