2010 was easily the worst year of my life, so I am ridiculously glad it's over and very much looking forward to what 2011 brings me. I don't think I will be doing any of the end of year memes, because the sheer emptiness of my year isn't something I want to be revisiting.
In case anyone was wondering, I am still in the UK, changed my flight, so am going to NYC tomorrow. This meant that instead of a lavishly expensive NYE, I had a virtually free, but nonetheless a rather lovely one. London, a group of good friends, delicious mulled wine and cheap champagne, plenty of nostalgia and a lot of laughter. It really was lovely. I woke up at 11:30 and felt worse for wear, but one of my friends and I decided we need fresh air and managed to get completely lost while attempting the brief walk to St Paul's, ate caramelised peanuts while crossing Millennium Bridge and then had lunch in Tate Modern, where we sat across a guy that was the epitome of street style fashion. All in all a rather wonderful beginning to the year.
I came back from Spain on the 30th, the reason for my lack of update is that my laptop suddenly stopped charging and as soon as the battery finished it sadly died. This led to a lot of panicked receipt searching (it's only 10 months old!) and today's trip to the shop revealed the charger isn't working, but they should send me a new one. (or so they said, after a lengthy phone call it was revealed that this isn't exactly the case...) and because I want to take it with me, we bought a ridiculously expensive universal charger, which I am planning to return after I get back.
As for Spain, I was too ill to even leave the house in the first three days, we had no presents, because we are all fond of the last moment, but snow and illness prevented us from utilising it, and my brother's girlfriend ended up joining us, because she couldn't get to France due to the snow, she is nice, but seriously if I have to take another couply picture I am going to kill something. Haha, despite all these, Spain was actually really great! The weather was amazing, sunny every day, doesn't get dark until 6:30 and sooo much warmer than here. We had a beautiful villa in a little village that was sort of in between Seville, Grenada and Malaga and we went on day trips to all of these as well as a couple of other places. And in the days I couldn't go anywhere, there was Sky tv, so I could watch bad Christmas movies and even Doctor Who on Christmas Day! So good! :D

Yuletide was really stressful for me this year, because of said fondness for last minute and the fact that I had the flu didn't help matters, but I did finish my story. which can be found here, and which is Chris/Zach! Not something I ever imagined writing again, to be honest, but here it is. I received a rather lovely Bonnie Bennett character study, but unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to read more than a tiny handful of other fics. Really looking forward to some quiet time with the Yuletide Archive, I guess that won't be happening for a while.
Johnny Weir's book is coming out on the 11th!! And he is doing a signing and I will be in New York then! I really, really want to go. Not sure how I will explain my sudden interest in figure skating to my friend, but never mind that. :D
I finally saw the Social Network! I thought it was a rather mediocre film, to be honest, it starts off okay, but it ends rather abruptly and I wanted to skip all the parts with the twins and Justin Timberlake and also punch Mark in the face a lot. But I freely admit that Andrew Garfield is the most adorable thing EVER and I want ALL THE FIC! Haven't actually read any yet, so very much interested in recs! :D?
...And that's it? I haven't had time to keep up with anything fandomy, or even read my flist in the past week, I am sorry you guys! I will catch up as soon as I can. Um, what else? I really enjoyed the Doctor Who Christmas special? I take it, this isn't a popular opinion?
