Hello. I feel like I have spend the last couple of months hiding my head in the sand like an ostrich, things in my RL had hit an all time low and as my way of dealing with everything is avoidance, this has meant that while I may have read every Kurt/Blaine fic in existence, I haven't quite been around. This is going to change, because over the past week I have awoken from my misery, or something, and anyway things are looking up.
RL Things That Are Good.
- I have somehow managed to find myself a grown up job. Well, it isn't what I want to be doing, but it has prospects and a salary and it will be challenging, so it may turn out interesting. I don't know yet. Start date is late January, and I will still be living at home for the time being, but you know what, I am pretty pleased. :D
- I have reconnected with a friend, someone I used to be very closed to, and things ended up getting really weird, and I didn't see him for a year, but he is in the country now and I went to visit him last week and it was so lovely. This was something that has been bothering me for ages.
-Going to Spain with family for Christmas, it should be warm, which yay!
-Planning to go to NYC for New Year, this will involve flying on the 31st, as am getting back from Spain on the 30th and will probably mean me spending NYE on an airport, because of delays, but it's worth it going before I start my job, as I have a friend I can stay with, who has an amazing apartment a few blocks from Times Square.
-I have such awesome friends, both rl and fandom, which made this past weekend absolutely wonderful: chocolate festival with lemniciate, sillyshy and nahara, followed by pink champagne and Thai food with my oldest school friend, Sunday Christmas lunch with some of my favourite people, nutroast and being told by someone I have only met twice before that I need to have my own reality show, unplanned cinema trip (the Tourist, didn't realise it was a comedy...) after and unsuccessful Christmas shopping (after four hours, came back with 2 xmas cards, 1 calendar and a necklace for myself. Fail.)
-In the next week plans for more Xmas shopping, a boat party, a free photoshoot and hopefully seeing a number of great people. :)))
Fandom Things That Are Good:
- Caught up on the Vampire Diaries. :DDD Where is all the Caroline/Tylor?
-In Glee news, the bird that was given to Kurt a few eps ago now has a twitter, which appears to be run by all the Warblers, Darren Criss included, and it is pretty much the greatest thing ever. With glitter on top. (Seriously, so much glitter!)
-Have you all heard Johnny Weir's song? What, you may ask, is a figure skater doing releasing a song? Well I haven't got an answer to that, and maybe it isn't the most awesome thing I have ever heard, but he is skating and singing, people! SKATING AND SINGING and his costume is amazing, and it is kinda ridiculously catchy. I love him so much.
-In more Johnny news, Skating with the Stars continues to be ridiculous, but also entertaining and his interactions with Dick Button make the whole show worth watching. There is also this whole war between Johnny and one of the contestants, mostly because she is an awful person, who can't skate, but insists that she doesn't give a shit about what the judges think. But the consequences are amazing.
-In less than great, but pretty funny, other Figure Skating news, Evan Lysacek designs a hideous dress and is apparently a groundbreaker in skating fashion, which was a key to his Olympic success. (I wouldn't watch the whole thing, it's super dull, but skip to 1.50, what is this man on?!)
-In actual skating news, I still haven't watched anything from the GPF, apart from Alissa Czisny, I am so happy for her win, she is so beautiful on the ice. Also very happy for Meryl and Charlie and Kanako's bronze. Sad about Rachael and Miki's injury and can't even talk about the men.
