Hope you are all having a good Monday! I am still trying to catch up from my weekend away.
- On Saturday night went to an Alice in Wonderland themed night in the Southwark Playhouse, which featured the worst cupcakes known to man, my first alcopop in about four years and fire tricks. (it could have also featured burlesque dancers, but much to my chagrin we got there too late) It was really random, because I met a few friends for dinner and then we went for a drink in the pub, where we ran into two guys from college, with which none of us are exactly close friends with, but that never seems to matter in such situations. They had spend their day recording and filming street performers and were carrying around expensive and heavy equipment, but perhaps lured by
lauds' misleading message of free cupcakes (she was there with her more punctual friends) they agreed to come with us. When we got there it looked empty, it was colder that outdoors and it smelt of damp and mould. Not the best first impression, but soon enough more people turned up, we got used to the smell and as soon as dancing happened I was even able to take my scarf off! Good times were had. I really wish I hadn't forgotten to take my camera, because there were some fabulous costumes and my friend was convinced she saw Jamie Bell. I didn't think it was him, but I like her story better. The music was fun and even though I got the distinct impression that everyone knew each other, the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. (and if everyone really did know each other, I can't complain because we saw another girl from college, who just happened to be directing a play at the playhouse, she was very adamant in her claim that she wouldn't have been there otherwise.)
I really do love Twitter. Still not updating it, but it is just so informative, life would be so much duller without it. (In Twitter news...)
- It helpfully informed us that
PINTO HAPPENED (once again I wasn't around to share the squee, which makes me sad, because I really needed something like that to remember my love for them and yeah it is still there PINTO IN THE PARK JUST THINKING ABOUT IT MAKES ME SMILE) There are a bunch of fics at
Pinto Fest, which I will at some point try to read, but in the mean time there is
this fic, which is the first Pinto I've read in... a while, but I am so glad that I did, because it is wonderful. The whole gang goes to see Rocky Horror and it is laugh out loud funny, with great banter and UST and Chris dressed up as Rocky and Zach as Dr Frank'n'Furter, which is all you need to know really.
-It helpfully informed me while I was sitting on a train that
Evan Lysacek hit his head during a rehearsal and has a mild concussion, que me getting seriously worried about someone I didn't know existed a month ago. (I am a little ashamed to admit this, but after the worry had mostly subsided my second thought was that he is begging for more amnesia fic, and I hope someone writes it)
-It proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that
Simon Pegg wins at life.
-It brings us more
Adam/Johnny interaction. :))))
In TV news...
-Is anyone still watching FlashForward? I stopped for a while and then I started again, and the last few eps have been pretty good.
YAY DIMITRI LIVES. SO RELIEVED AND PLEASED. WTH is the deal with Janis? I refuse to believe that she is evil. :(((
-Doctor Who was awesome! Both funny and scary, but I do have an unpopular opinion re Amy. I really want to love her, I did in the Pilot, but since then I find myself often irritated by her. She is smug and clueless and irresponsible and it annoys me. I want to love her, I really do. :(
-Why do none of you watch the Vampire Diaries? It is so much fun! And Ian Somerhalder acting alongside David Anders is truly wonderful to behold.
-SOUTHLAND HAS BEEN RENEWED FOR A THIRD SEASON! :)))))) This pleases me so, especially since I did not think it likely.
In other news...
-I got the million extra icons which we now can have, because mine had luckily expired about a week before the new update and it is awesome, but I ae a long way to go before filling all the spots, can anyone rec me good stock icon makers? (Fandom too, anything really!) I even made a bunch of icons myself, some of which I am nearly proud with.
