So It is 0th Week and my very possibly second to last term at Oxford starts, I don't like this. It upsets me greatly.
The other thing that upsets me greatly is that I haven't done my application yet, because I can't make my personal statement better and I am afraid of trying so I have been reading web comics all morning. The other thing that upsets me is that I have collections on Friday and I haven't revised for them, and one is with the tutor that is writing my reference and I just don't want to do badly. I hate the pressure of 0th week, at least this time there won't be any essays. And I am seeing the History Boys on Thursday, which is probably stupid of me, but I had hoped when I booked my tickets that I would have revised by then. Riiight.
So resolutions.
By the End of Today:
Rewrite personal statement and send it to tutors to read alongside an apology for taking so long
Upload essays, CV, transcript and referee details so that they can actually write me a referee by the deadline. (why didn't I do this before?)
Read notes and essays on Mill, Tocqueville, Durkheim and Individualism, look at past papers, plan essays.
By the end of Tomorrow:
Pack and go to Oxford
Call my landlady and demand a not-smelly room, refuse to pay rent otherwise
Finish revision plans for HPT.
Look at past papers on South Asia, choose 4 topics to revise, read notes and essays
By the End of the week:
Pass collections
Finish applications to both Oxford and LSE
See people and don't throw up (these two are unrelated)
Sort stuff with land lady
By the End of the Month:
Decide on an alternative for next year, so plan a gap year and apply for jobs, summer internships, whatever is needed.
Go to all lectures and classes
Start revising for everything, remember there are many hours in the day before noon.
By the End of Six months:
Get a First
Don't waste time, either revise or have fun, nothing in the middle.
Be less afraid, less hesitant, more impulsive
Have a fully planned awesome summer
By the End of the Year:
Have no regrets
If not in Oxford, be doing something which is helping you get where you want to be
