Chapter 11:

“Ne, are you sure it’s okay?” Mitsuhara asked as Tamamori wheeled her out of the room.

“I guess so. I can always think of an excuse. Besides, the guards are following us.”

“Where are we heading to?”

“To the garden. You’ve never been there before, right? Although it’s small and there are not many flowers but I find it relaxing there.”

A minute later, they reached the garden. Just like what Tamamori said, the garden has only two or three types of flowers. Even so, it was more than enough to make the place beautiful.

“Wow…so, looking down from the window and being in the place itself feels so different.” Mitsuhara said as she held out her right hand to touch the morning glories that were growing on the pillar.

Tamamori placed the wheelchair beside a bench and he sat on it. The two guards stood a few meters away but were keeping watchful eyes on them.

“You met Takizawa again?” Mitsuhara asked.

“How did you know?”

“Fujiwara-san told me that you went out again.”

“That guy…”

“He’s nice, you know. I like talking to him too.”

“Souka…”

“Is there anything you want to tell me? I have a feeling when every time you do something special, there are always things you want to tell me after that.”

“Hmm…I guess you are right. Takizawa told me what he found out about your parents.”

“Go on.”

“Your parents were actually murdered.”

“Oh…”

“Otou-sama…was the one that did it.”

“What’s all this commotion about…?” Tamamori said groggily as he rubbed one of his eyes and sat up. The clock on his bedside table says it was only 3:25 in the morning. Tamamori was awoken by the sound of the building alarm ringing. A few seconds after he sat up, someone was knocking on his door repeatedly.

“Tamamori sensei, Tamamori sensei!” That person called out. He sounded like Fujiwara.

“Tamamori got up unwillingly and opened the door. Unlike him, Fujiwara was already dressed up and wide awake.

“What happened?” Tamamori asked.

“There’s been a breached of security. We are not sure where the person is right now and where he would be heading to. That’s why I’m here to escort you to safety.” Fujiwara explained.

Tamamori quickly grabbed his coat after he finally understood what was happening.

“What about Mitsuhara?”

“Don’t worry; these guards will look after her.” Fujiwara said, referring to the additional guards that stood by the door leading to her room.

“Let’s go, quick!” Fujiwara said again and pulled Tamamori away from his room.

Fujiwara brought him to a hall where all the workers gathered. This hall is also their work place where all the computers are located.

“How can this happen right under our nose?” Chief Tanaka’s voice was heard as everyone surrounded him. It turned out that Tamamori was the only one still dressed in pajamas.

“I believe our system have been hacked and being manipulated by them.” A man said.

“Well, I didn’t have you here to let them hack into our system. What are you still doing? Go work on it now and stop them from continuing to do so.” Chief Tanaka said with an impatient voice.

“Yes, sir!”

“You! Find out immediately who is behind this and their motive.” Chief Tanaka barked at a woman.

“You two! Inform the guards to be alert and don’t let anyone out of the building. Get me the information of all the in-mates that we have with us. I want it now!”

This situation continued for another forty-five minutes before someone came running in.

“Chief! We managed to save a copy of a video tape which we believe contains the person’s face before he managed to delete them.” The middle-aged man said while catching his breath. “It’s on the screen.” He said again.

Everyone turned to face the LED screens that were hung on the wall.

“Stop right there.” Chief Tanaka ordered. He managed to catch onto something although the lighting source was very limited in the video.

“Zoom in.” He said again.

This time a face that doesn’t belong to any of the employees from any departments appeared. It was still not clear enough but Tamamori could make it out from the silhouette. Deep down, he didn’t want to believe it but he was worried of her.

“Mitsuhara…”
