A security guard on foot had noticed the truck was still parked in the hotel parking lot. He found the body in moments and called it in. He hovered outside the crime scene tape as the officers did their jobs.
Toma was furious, one week after they had found Matsumoto-san’s body and now another prominent citizen had been murdered…
Ryo had fallen asleep on Aya’s couch again and had not been pleased to be woken up to the news.
Aya was sipping coffee as she took mental notes of the scene, the murderer had been careful; the scene had very little if any blood.
Erika checked lividity, rigor mortis and body temperature. She glanced at Ryo, “Three or four hours. Around two this morning I guess.”
Ryo made a note of that as well as any observations he thought might be important.
Nika knelt beside the body of Kato Anne, he took pictures and any evidence he could before backing away to allow Erika and an unfamiliar man wearing an ME jacket remove the body.
Taiyou had already begun to process the truck, he had a bad feeling and he didn’t like it. He didn’t let it interfere with his work though.
Yoko was late, Shoon had been sent to pick him up and they were both not happy when they finally arrived. It was supposed to be Ryo and Yoko’s day off but Nino and Toma felt they had more pressing matters.
They were in the middle of downtown Chiba and they had to accomplish this quickly because this was one of the largest hotels in town. It always was the location of this year’s Policeman’s Ball. They barely escaped the papers last week. If they survive this week then it would be a miracle.
Shoon was interviewing the security guard who was first on the scene.
Toma nodded to himself, Shoon was a good cop he asked intelligent questions and was getting a lot of information out of the man. He didn’t know if the man knew how much he was giving away. The guard wasn’t a suspect anyway…
Aya barely glanced at the victim’s face as the body bag was closed before starting to shake…
Ryo noticed this and pulled her to the side, “Ai-chan? Are you alright…”
Aya looked at him her eyes filled with uncertainty, “Ryo-tan, she was one of my patients just like Maki.” She whispered, “They were coming for the same reason, martial counseling. They were trying to save their marriage after their husbands cheated. I never knew who Jun or Shige slept with but they both seemed afraid of her.”
Ryo stared at her, “What? There is a connection between Matsumoto-san and Kato-san’s murders…”
Aya nodded, “What does this mean…”
Ryo stared as Erika drove away with the body of Kato Anne, “I don’t know but I don’t like it…”
