Pieces of me ch.6 Maru woke up yawning, he checked the date on the top newspaper his cleaning lady must have left. he had slept for 3 days straight. he smiled noticing the box from his publishers. inside were ten first printing copies. He took one out and searched for a pen. He curled with the book in a chair and wrote a special note to Tatsuya. 'thank you for always being there supporting me. for loving me enough to wait for me to notice you. for always sending me notes of encouragement. you are my best friend- Yuichi.' he smiled as he grabbed his things. it was dinnertime but Ueda would still let him in...
Ueda was busy at Agony, he felt so bad about not being able to go and prepare food for Maru. The pianist hoped he will have a little break later and sneak out to check on his beloved Yuichi
Maru found an empty seat at the bar and called out, "Tat-chan..." he couldn’t wait for Tatsuya to read the dedication and his heartfelt message with the autograph...
"oh Yuichi" Ueda replied surprised to see him there and left what he was doing in one of the waiter's hands. You seem reborn" he said sweetly, glad to see him refreshed
Maru grinned, "it always seems that way after I finish a book." he poured them both a glass of wine to celebrate before letting Tatsuya read his copy...
"My copy?" he asked excited and giggled like a little kid, who was going to open his precious and so wanted present
Maru smiled dangling it in front of Tatsuya's nose, "it’s from my set of the first printing and it’s. personally inscribed...”
"Sugei " Ueda exclaimed excited and smiled brightly at Maru "thanks Yuichi.." said he and curious opened it, he wanted to read the dedication... Ueda read Maru's words with attention a smiled appeared on his lips until he read the last few words "you're my best friend" he was glad... but in the same time it felt like he was stabbed right in the heart, but he promised to himself he won't force his feelings on Maru. The pianist lifted his head smiling at Maru "Thank you Yuichi, it's wonderful" he said.
Maru sighed and pointed to the personal note with the signature. it was more heartfelt. "read this...please..." he gave Tatsuya an embarrassed smile...
Ueda read what Maru indicated. His face flushing with embarrassment,
'thank you for always being there supporting me. for loving me enough to wait for me to notice you. for always sending me notes of encouragement. you are my best friend- Yuichi.'
The best friend part still stung…but there was something about the way the rest of it was worded…
if it weren’t for Tatsuya this book would never have been finished. Tatsuya had always been there supporting him, knowing that made him happy. He finally had someone special... Maru said quietly, “I had to word the dedication that way...it didn’t say what I wanted it to exactly. but I hoped you would understand what I meant..." he kissed him lightly, "thank you so much.... for being there...loving me...letting me have time...to realize...that I love you..." he hadn’t know that was what he felt until this moment...
Ueda looked up at him with reddened eyes "does it mean...?" he couldn't speak his thought as the other continued his heart was beating so hard. "you're welcome.." Ueda murmured in the light kiss and few tears rolled down his cheeks when he heard those so wanted words coming from Maru “Aishiteru.." he murmured happy then he had ever been…
Maru pulled him close, "I’m...you are my muse...my lover...my best friend...and my more important fan..." sorry I made you wait so long...please...dont stop supporting me...I think...I need you
Ueda hugged him tight, silently crying for joy "I won't, I won't leave you, I'll always be by your side Yuichi" he replied with a broken voice.
Maru kissed him, "I’m glad that I didn’t scare you away with my work habits." he found what was missing in his books...he hadn’t known what it was like to truly be in love. now...he was sure every thing would be okay...
Tatsuya kissed him back soft, with love as they parted he smiled. "I had fun... I came to know Yuichi better" Whispered he sweetly and kissed Maru's lips again.
Maru kissed him deeply, the book between them. it would probably become his favorite...it would be a reminder of their early days...which would make it precious...
