Matsujun watched, poor Chii was having a hard time getting into the mischievous character of Puck. He had a secret…he was a witch, the descendant of a long line of witches. He had bewitched Johnny once and he had attained his fame through that. He snapped his fingers a large purple pansy appeared, he smirked, ‘love-in-idleness’ indeed. Perhaps this enchanted flower would inspire Puck once more…he tapped Chii on the shoulder, “Take this flower…the one that doth inspire such revels.”

Chii stared at the flower, “What is it…”

Matsujun smiled, “It is the flower you were sent to seek. Begone Puck. Follow the words of your fairy king.”

Chii took the flower, what could a pansy have to do with Shakespeare?

Matsujun whispered, “Read your script…”

Chii barely noticed as his sempai disappeared…

Takaki tapped Chii on the shoulder, “We’re about to do your first scene.”

Chii turned startled; he squeezed the flower and juice from the flower landed in Takaki’s eye…

Takaki cried out his hands flying to his eyes, when he blinked he saw as in a Shoujo manga. Chii was surrounded by a wreath of flowers and bathed in pink light, he gasped leaping into his arms, “Oh Yuri…did I ever love until now? You are my sun, my moon, my stars. Let me worship you.” He tried to kiss him…

Chii glanced from the flower to his bandmate, “aren’t you married to Rubi…” he pushed Takaki away unaware Matsujun was watching. He ran through his lines which he knew by heart, trying to avoid Takaki’s love-struck stares. He hid after he was through, his eyes lingering on Ryosuke, he’d liked him since they debuted together but he never seemed to be loved back...Ryosuke made an adorable Hermia…he wasn’t sure if he liked Shige and Massu chasing him. His bandmate was so much younger…

Shige glared at Yuto, “I love thee not, therefore pursue me not. Where is Lysander and the fair Hermia? The one I will slay, the other slayeth me, thou told’st me they were stolen unto this wood; and here I am, and wode within this wood’ because I cannot find the fair Hermia. Hence, get thee gone, and follow me no more.”

Yuto pleaded, “You draw me, you hard-hearted adamant; but you draw not iron, for my heart is true as steel: leave you your power is to draw and I shall have no power to follow you…”

Everyone was impressed; Yuto was considered the best actor in Hey Say 7 for good reason. He had captured Helena’s plight, her love for a man who scorned her…who had left her for her best friend.

Chii smiled, Yuto was a good actor…he entered after Yuto and Shige’s scene, he bowed to Ryo.

Ryo stared off after Shige and Yuto, “Fare thee well, nymph: ere he do leave this grove, thou shalt fly him, and he shall seek thy love. Hast thou the flower there? Welcome wanderer.”

Chii offered the flower Matsujun had given him, “Ay, there it is.”

Ryo nodded, “Pray there, give it to me. I know a bank where the wild time grows; where oxlips and the nodding violet grows; quite over-canopied with luscious wood vine, with sweet musk roses, and with eglantine: there sleeps Titania sometime of the night, lull’d in these flowers with dances and delight; and there the snake throws her enamell’d skin, weeds wide enough to wrap a fairy in: and with the juice of this I’ll streak her eyes, and make her full of hateful fantasies” he plucked off a piece of it and handed it back to Chii, “Take thou some of it, and seek through this grove: a sweet Athenian lady is in love with a disdainful youth: anoint his eye but do it when the next thing he espies may be the lady. You will know the man by the Athenian garments he hath on. Effect it with some care that he may prove more fond on her than she upon her love: and look thou meet me ere the first cock crow.”

Chii bowed again, “Fear not, my lord, your servant shall do so…”

Chii stood in shadows watching Yama-chan.

Massu bowed over Yamada’s hand, “Fair love, you faint with wandering in the wood: and to speak troth, I have forgot our way: We’ll rest us, Hermia, it you think it good, and tarry for the comfort of the day.”

Ryosuke smiled wearily, “Be it so, Lysander: find you out a bed.” He lifted his skirt and lay on the stage, “For I upon this back will rest my head.” He laid his face to the audience, his head pillowed on his arm.

Massu knelt beside him, “One turf shall serve as pillow for both of us; one heart, one bed, two bosoms, and one troth.”

Ryosuke shook his head, his eyes drawn to the floor as if he was embarrassed, “Nay, good Lysander; for my sake, my dear, Lie farther off yet, do not lie so near.”

Massu kissed his hair, “O, take the sense, sweet, of my innocence! Love takes the meaning in love’s conference. I mean, that my heart unto yours is knit, so that but one heart we can make of it: two bosoms interchained with an oath; so then two bosoms and a single troth. Then by your side no bed-room me deny; for lying so I do not lie.”

Ryosuke giggled, his sempai was so affectionate in character, this was fun, “Lysander riddles very prettily: now much beshrew my manners and my pride, is Hermia meant to say Lysander lied. But, gentle friend, for love and courtesy lie farther off; in human modesty, such separation becomes a virtuous bachelor and a maid, so be far distant; and, good night, sweet friend: they love ne’er alter till they sweet life end!”

Massu moved a little ways away, close enough he could jump to defend her, “Amen, amen, to that fair prayer, say I; and then end life when I end loyalty! Here is my bed: sleep give thee all his rest!”

Ryosuke blushed, “With half that wish the wisher’s eyes be press’d.”

Chi crept in once he seemed certain they were asleep, Ryo might be he learned from Daiki and Yabu to snatch sleep in strange places. “Though the forest I have gone, but Athenian I have found none, on whose eyes I might improve this flower’s force in stirring love. Night and silence…” he paused spotting Massu, “Who is he…weeds of Athens he doth wear: this is he, my master said, despised the Athenian maid.” He moved and gently stroked Ryosuke’s hair, “And here the maiden, sleeping sound, on the dank and dirty ground.” He smiled, “Pretty soul! She durst not lie near this lack-love, this kill-courtesy.” He knew if he flung the flower’s juice Massu would love another so he crept to his sempai’s side, he knew Massu didn’t love Ryosuke but still he wanted the boy to himself. He poured the flower’s juice into Massu’s eye, “Churl, upon thy eyes I throw all the power this charm doth owe. When thou wakest, let love forbid sleep his seat on thy eyelid: so awake when I am gone; for I must now to Oberon.” He snuck away…

Yuto pleaded, “Stay, though thou kill me, sweet Demetrius.”

Shige tried to escape the taller boy, “I charge the, hence, and do not haunt me thus.”

Yuto reached for his arm to cling from terror at the strange dark forest, “O, wilt thou darkling leave me? Do not so.”

Shige snorted, “Stay, on thy peril: I alone will go.” He shoved Yuto off and ran off.

Yuto covered his mouth with a hand, his hand over his heart as if out of breathe, “O, I am out of breath in this fond chase! The more my prayer, the lesser is my grace. happy is Hermia, wheresoe’er she lies; For she hath blessed and attractive eyes. How came her eyes so bright? Not with salt tears: if so then my eyes are oftener wash’d then hers. No, no, I am as ugly as a bear; for beasts that meet me run away for fear: Therefore no marvel though Demetrius do, as a monster fly my presence thus. What wicked dissembling glass of mine made me compare with Hermia’s sphery eyne…” he nearly stumbled into his sempai, “But who is here? Lysander! On the ground!” he checked him for injuries, “Dead? Or asleep? I see no blood, no wound. Lysander, if you live good sir, awake.”

Chii smirked, the beginning of a great love chase.

Massu woke, his heart going doki doki as he looked into Yuto’s eyes, “And run through fire for thy sweet sake. Transparent Helena! Nature shews art, that through thy bosom makes me see thy heart. Where is Demetrius? O, how fit a word is that vile name to perish on my sword!”

Yuto shook, this was wrong…what was that glow in Massu’s face… “Do not say so, Lysander; say not so. What thought he love you Hermia! Lord, what though? Yet Hermia still loves you; then be content.”

Massu laughed scornfully, “Content with Hermia? No I do repent.”

Chii left, he wondered what he had wrought…
