Socialisation of the nation!
After a few weeks of being a complete recluse, I've had a quick succession of people, reaching a climactic high of 12 hours of The Guys in general. Their household currently numbers 5-6 depending on the day, and sitting around drawing really inappropriate pictures was far more fun than it should have been.
Of course we talked books, music, comics, and other media. Since I've been having a turn at writing lyrics for a friend's band (and watching Metalocalypse a lot), I've been lusting after electric guitars that I cannot possibly afford or use. I've borrowed one of The Guys' childhood guitars, which should only give my tiny hands a small amount of pain. I've just been fiddling around and fumbling my way through basic things, but my fingers already feel warm against my cheek. I suppose that they'll harden up as I play more frequently.
I can't afford one of those tuner gadgets yet, but I know another player in this suburb. I forsee many walks to his house, and many cups of apologetic tea and coffee until I've saved enough to get my own. I don't imagine I'll ever be very competent, but I love learning new and different things, so it'll keep me happy for a while.
