Summary: A general day during the winter.

----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Outside the world was covered in white. With the forecast predicting sunshine all week, the snow had hit unexpectedly. The little flakes started sometime during the night, as it hadn't been there when he went to bed, and he then woke up to the stuff covering everything.

Arthur hadn't been to happy when he woke him up exclaiming about it.

“Alfred.” He said deadly serious. “It's cold and it's just hardened rain. So, get your butt back over here.”

Alfred had laughed, but obeyed his boyfriend, who snuggled close and fell right back to sleep.

When they, namely Arthur, had decided to finally get out of bed. The snow had already made its self quite thick. Almost as high as the porch. Alfred entertained thoughts of playing in it, when the start of the coffee pot broke his thoughts.

Contrary to what the name implies, there wasn't actually coffee grounds in the maker. When they had first moved in, Arthur tea set had broke during the move. Without the funds to buy a new one, they merely used the coffee maker to make the tea.

Poor Arthur looked like a zombie in the morning without the stuff.

Alfred found himself chuckling. Arthur raised a brow at him, and Alfred just shook his head and dug out a frying pan.“What would you like for breakfast, babe?”

Because Arthur cooking was an invitation to the grave.

Arthur tapped is nails on the counter briefly in thought. “Hash-browns and eggs?” He said after a moment. A little hopeful.

Alfred smiled. “Coming right up!”

----- ----- ----- ----- -----
After breakfast, Alfred got his time in the snow.

Bundled up, Alfred practically took a head-dive into it. Laughing and rolling about, before he landed on his back and started making a snow angel. Arthur, meanwhile, was content to sit on the porch stairs with a mug of warm tea in his hands and watch Alfred with his antics. Alfred was quite cute to watch when his face was alight with childish glee.

“Arthur!”

Said man flickered his gaze to him, questioning.

“Let's make a snow man!”

“Hmm?” Arthur tilted his head back, thinking. “I dunno, I'm pretty comfortable up here. I'm also not as cold... or wet.” He looked at the snow in distaste. “But...” Arthur smiled coyly. “If you make it worth my while... I'll think about it.”

Alfred laughed. A joyous, belly rumbling laugh. Arthur found himself dropping the coy smile for a soft, genuine one. Alfred got up, little giggles escaping him, and plopped himself right next to Arthur on the porch stairs.

“Make it worth your while, huh?”

Alfred leaned in and gave his boyfriend a searing kiss.

When they parted, Alfred was grinned and Arthur licked his lips. “Hm. Well, I suppose that'll do.”

Alfred snorted, and shook his head, but was laughing anyway. Holding his hand out, Arthur took it and was promptly pulled into the snow with Alfred. Laughing, they rustled in the snow. Snow got shoved down shirt collars, snowballs where thrown, and by the end of the session they were both chilled and wet.

“Back inside?” Arthur asked.

“Yes.” Alfred sneezed.

It was a mutual decision to make some hot chocolate. Alfred could even have his whipped cream on top.

---- ----- ----- ----- -----
Their coats were dripping puddles onto the floor, and it would have to be cleaned later, but both did not care. They had taken the blanket from the bedroom and brought it down to the couch. It was one of those pull out ones, for guests, but it had it's uses. Alfred was setting it up as Arthur lit the fireplace. When it crackled and the fire roared, Alfred could hear Arthur sigh in relief.

Alfred chuckled. “Cold?” He asked teasingly.

Arthur gave him a glare. As if it was all the other males fault.

Alfred stuck his tongue out. Then, taking a glace as the movie shelf he asked, “Want to watch a movie?”

“Sure. It'll be good to past the time.” Arthur paused then, thinking. “You think any of the delivery places will be open? I'm thinking about take-out for dinner.”

“Maybe?” The snow had stopped, and even still, something was bound to be open.

There was a shrug from Arthur, and Alfred watched his boyfriend move to go get the phone, eyes instantly going down his backside. Arthur paused before turning the corner into the kitchen, looking over at Alfred with a raised eyebrow and one corner of his lips turned up. Alfred just smiled sheepishly. Arthur chuckled and was out of Alfred's sight.

Alfred decided to just flop on the couch-bed then. It gave a horrible groan, that made him wince a bit. He felt a bit sorry for the couch, but seeing as it had taken worse abuse than this, he figured it'd be okay.

A few minuets later, Arthur came back. “There was a pizza place open. It'll be here in 30” He looked at Alfred then, already on the couch and shook his head. “I guess I'll grab the movie.”

From his positions, Alfred couldn’t see what he had picked. By the time Arthur had moved from the DVD player and onto the couch, he figured it out. “The Fifth Element?”

Arthur nodded. “Probably one of the only movies I like from your collection.”

Because Arthur preferred animated or fantasy films and Alfred liked action and explosions.

Arthur snuggled up to Alfred, head on his shoulder, hair tickling his cheek. Alfred, on reflex, lifted a hand and buried it into his boyfriends hair and began running it through. Cuddling was a welcomed thing for the both of them. Others could tease them how much they wish, and say how 'un-manly' it was, but they could care less. They liked being in each others arms.

The air was warm, and the fireplace had cast a light glow about the room. With the the curtains drawn, the room was already dark. It was peaceful, Alfred decided; and comfortable. Besides him, Arthur was limp, relaxed, breathing evenly, and if it wasn't for his half-opened eyes Alfred would think him asleep.

The moment atmosphere, however, shattered. By the door bell.

Arthur had sat up in a jerk, surprised and blinked owlishly. “The pizza?”

Alfred looked at the clock. “Most likely.”

Arthur sighed irritably, but had pulled back the blanket and went to the door.

Alfred then, had felt a bit of a loss without Arthur there. It made him sigh in a bit of disappointment, and blame the pizza deliverer. But with his growling stomach, that had Arthur chuckling, he figured he could excuse the pizza deliverer in favor of some good pizza. 'Sides, it wasn't like they couldn't go back to cuddling.

Which they did, and all was good.

By the end of the movie, Arthur really had fallen asleep. They had moved to a position more suited for lying down, than sitting up, and Arthur was currently using Alfred as a body-hug pillow. Getting a pull-out couch was the best idea ever.

The fire had dimmed down to barely an ember. The quiet, dark, and warmth was making Alfred sleepy. Even his hand motions of running his hands through Arthur's hair was slow and languid.

By the time his eyelids closed the fire had gone out, and out the window Alfred could see little glittering snowflakes begin to fall. Cuddling closer to Arthur, he smiled.
