Holiday Projects

While procrastinating on projects for myself over the holidays, I made a couple of presents for friends. Now that they have arrived with their new owners and I have pictures allow for me to present them:

Fatbird! for andeburu
Based on the filir homunculus from Ragnarok Online, this present was a few years in the making. As in I designed and made the prototypes back in 2008, but didn't get around to making the final version until this year. I had fun trying to figure out whether my some of my patterns pieces included seam allowances as I had only made notes on half of them.

And what has now been dubbed Snake Suit for ruaki

This was a somewhat original designed cultivated from fanart of Hazama from Blazblue.

It also came with two tube-snake-hand-puppet things that I forgot to get pictures of before I sent them off.

One thing was once again brought to my attention while working on these is that cats are not at all conducive to costuming. Both of my boys like to lay on and play with fabric while you're trying to pin and cut the pattern pieces. Then they like to try and eat the pins if you look away for a moment. And cat fur is impossible to remove from fleece.

costume: miscellaneous, costuming
