OK, flist, a musical mystery...
At the end of the recent CSI:NY episode "Pot of Gold" there was a song that no-one seems able to identify. Someone captured an mp3 clip of it here, and there has been much Googling of lyrics and attempts to find out what the song is -- all to no avail.
So far, I'm certain that it isn't Flogging Molly or Daniel Wylie -- those two are the top two discussed options, due to their being elsewhere on the musical track for the ep. However, given the story in the ep (concerning St. Patrick's Day in NY) it seems likely it's from an Irish band. The song has a male vocalist, and the intro music has what sounds like either a harpsichord or a finely plucked guitar, with electric guitar strumming in the background.
Anyone care to take a crack at it? The vocalist sounds hauntingly familiar to me, but I can't place the voice.
