One of the stops I'd like to make on my roadtrip down the Atlantic coast is, naturally, New York City. However, if New York traffic is anything like Boston's, I don't want to be muddling around in a traffic jam all day. One of the things I was considering was taking my bike along on the road trip, possibly on a rear rack, and use that for local transport at various locales.
Is that workable? Or should I consider using the New York subway? Biking around Boston is easy enough, after all. What about parking in or near NYC? How costly is it? Would it be worth parking somewhere off Manhattan and riding bike or subway in?
