Postcards from the western edge.
Having been a horrible pen pal over the past couple of months, due to life and work and my own procrastination, I sent off some postcards this morning. I hope to get more and send them out from places all over the Southwest.
Today will be... busy. My flight to Phoenix leaves on Southwest at 12:40 pm, but given that I've done my online checkin and I'm not dropping any bags to be checked (yaaay frame-pack plus laptop bag), I'm going to only be getting to San Jose airport about an hour to an hour and a half ahead of the flight. Once I get to Phoenix, though, I immediately rent a car (reservations already made), drive north on I-17 (stopping only to fetch supplies from Albertson's/CostCo), and do my best to make Flagstaff/the Grand Canyon before sundown. (Flight lands at 2:30-ish, figure I'll have my car within an hour, supply shopping to take maybe half an hour tops... on the road heading north by 4 at the latest? Doable, I think.)
Pictures and updates may be few and far between from here through the end of the week. I'll do what I can to Twitter, depending upon cell phone coverage. Ciao all!
