1. Burn Notice.
2. Supernatural. xphoenixrising guessed Bobby Singer, which is pretty much correct. He's the old crafty hunter, the one who's willing to smack the pretty pretty Winchester boys upside the head when they act like fools but at the same time badass enough to pull their bacon out of the fire on more than one occasion. Additionally, he doesn't fall into the Hollywood-pretty category, and yet is a remarkably competent and moral character, so... double plus good, in my book.
3. Firefly. xphoenixrising guessed River, which, well, yeah. I have a thing for ultra-competent characters, and River fits into that category despite the fact that she's mad as a bagful of loons. And it doesn't hurt that she's played by Summer Glau, who, well, yum. : )
4. Lost.
5. Angel. Again from xphoenixrising! She guessed Wesley. I love the way that Wesley's character arc transforms him from nerdy prig into sophisticated, hard-edged badass. He is, of the characters on Angel, one of the few who actually HAS character development, and he's the intellectual everyman who makes good before getting brainwashed by Angel, going mad after the death of his love(-object), and then committing suicide by demon sorcerer.

There's so many others that just aren't quite suitable for this meme, like Journeyman. Or Castle, since EVERYONE on it is cool and the main cast is relatively slow. : )
