Thank you for this comment. I only hope that I can continue to deliver...

I think that Green's psychological situation lends itself to Stockholm Syndrome, though I haven't really labeled it as such. He's so lost and needy that he's incredibly vulnerable to just about anyone who would tell him that he's good enough. Not to mention that his reasoning behind being a pokémon trainer in the first place, which emphasize being "the best" and "strong," really lends itself to the Team Rocket mentality.

I want to hug Red as well. Unfortunately, he really gets the short end of the stick in this fic...

Thank you! I feel like sometimes the narrative voice can be a bit cynical. This is intentional, but I'm not sure if it's too much sometimes. I'm glad to see that you agreed with that little comment, though, especially since you're in that area of expertise.

True, Oak is definitely more famous in Generations II and IV than in Generation I, but I still think he's pretty well-known. There's a lot of hinting in the games that the professor was Pokémon League Champion back in his day, and I'll be making use of that unformed canonical detail in this piece.

Don't apologize because I tend to rant and ramble too and I totally get you. This comment was lovely and informative and I enjoyed reading it very much.

Sorry about the unintentional invocation of Vienna Teng. I would offer you an alternate soundtrack, but I haven't really thought about what music goes well with this piece. I've been listening to a rather eclectic mix or artists, from those who don't fit like Adele to some that do so loosely, like Death Cab for Cutie and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. If I do find something that fits (besides the namesake of this piece - "The Harder They Come" by Jimmy Cliff), I'll be sure to let you know.

Thanks again for this comment, and I hope you continue to enjoy what's to come!
