Thank you for the comment! I really appreciate it!

Ack, yeah. That was especially hard for me to write too. I usually love writing Green, but this is sort of killing me...

Giovanni is also very hard to write. On the one hand, we have canon telling us that this is a ruthlessly ambitious man who abandons his kid when his plans fall through... but I have my own interpretation of his character that I hope shines through. Other than Red, I'm definitely writing him as the "moral compass" of the story, as hard as that is to believe. I agree that his methods are extreme, and my attempts to have him justify his actions are not my way of condoning them. I only hope that I can peel back a few layers of his character and show what kind of a man he is.

I think he knows very well that he isn't a good man; he just thinks it's a necessary evil. Ironically, Green holds Giovanni in higher esteem than he does his grandfather. Granted, this is an abused and neglected kid latching onto the first authority figure that expresses interest in his potential, but their relationship is going to develop in that vein. I don't really have much basis to say that at this point in time with the WIP as it is, but as I keep updating I hope you'll see a different side to him (and the other characters) as the updates roll in.

Don't worry, I have plans for Silver. He comes up for the first time in the next chapter, and from there his involvement only grows to a crucial role.

Thanks again and I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D
