Author's Note: This fic grew out of the undercurrents of anger, hostility, resentment and frustration in episodes 2.01 - 2.07, which caught my interest and begged me to unpack them. Doing that took me in a rather different direction from the show itself, so this fic can be considered AU from the end of 2.06 ‘Never Been Kissed’, though it starts before that point. Originally written for Round One of the kurtbigbang fest.
Summary: I’m not challenged in the least here’. The most challenging months of Kurt Hummel’s life.
