Author's Note: This is the first fic I’ve finished in a long time, and the first one that I’ve managed to finish in the Glee/Klaine fandom. I did my best to make this as realistic as possible, so my apologies in advance if I haven’t done this topic justice. Everything I’ve read has said the method of binding described here is not to be used long term, but with the scene that played out in my mind, it just seem to fit. In the future, I might expand on this idea/story/‘verse (which is heavily inspired by adropofred on tumblr). And last, but certainly not least, I want to dedicate this to my girlfriend, justranda. She’s the Blaine to my Kurt, and I’d be lost without her. Title and cut text are from Mat Kearney’s “Breathe In, Breathe Out.”

“Kurt, come in here, you’re going to get soaking wet!” Blaine calls from the doorway to their dorm building. They had just come from a picnic on the Dalton grounds, the sudden change in the weather interrupting their plans. In the span of an hour or so, the sky had gone from sunny to overcast--they had hardly noticed, too busy sharing lazy kisses and being wrapped up in each other’s company. When rain had started to fall, they had hurried back towards the dorms they boarded in, only getting minimally wet. As Blaine had gone to open the door, however, he noticed Kurt wasn’t with him. Turning around, he saw his boyfriend standing just past the awning, rain falling steadily against Kurt’s body. “Kurt!” Blaine tries again. The other boy still doesn’t turn around.

For the first time in his life, Kurt doesn’t care about his hair or clothing getting mussed up or wet. He actually laughs, closing his eyes and extending his arms out as he tilts his head up towards the sky, savoring the feel of the tiny droplets of water falling against the exposed skin of his face and hands.

Blaine doesn’t call his boyfriend’s name again. Instead he waits, watching until Kurt approaches him coyly, tugging on his hand so they can kiss in the rain.

"We need to get you out of those clothes, you're going to catch something." Blaine says, tossing Kurt his own clean boxers and a pair of pajama pants from their laundry basket full of clothes Kurt had deemed casual enough to not have to store right away at the foot of Blaine’s bed. Ever since Kurt had confessed to being bullied because he was transgender, Blaine had felt a special connection to the boy, and they had shared everything once Kurt had transferred to get away from the people that tormented him every day at McKinley.

One day after the fourth Warblers practice that week--Thad, David, and Wes were insane before Regionals--something had shifted inside Blaine, watching Kurt after he had fallen asleep, tuckered out from hours of practicing what little choreography they had. Kurt was no longer just Kurt, the trans boy...he was Kurt, the boy Blaine wanted to be with. He had asked Kurt out on a date, a restauraunt other than Breadstix should they run into anyone Kurt knew--and Kurt had said yes, with some minor interference and suggestions from Jeff and Nick that most definitely did not involve bribery on Blaine’s part.

Giving Kurt a reassuring smile, Blaine turns around so the boy doesn't feel like he's being watched as he changes. They hadn’t done much past kissing and light petting, or occasionally--which wasn’t so much occasionally anymore as it was an actual habit--falling asleep next to each other (fully clothed). Despite the fact that Blaine knew Kurt was becoming more and more comfortable around him every day, he still didn’t want to intrude.

Blaine listens to the rustling sounds of Kurt removing his clothes while slipping into his own pajamas. After a moment, the room is still, a sign that Kurt has finished. Peeking over his own shoulder, Blaine watches as Kurt moves his hand along the edges of his makeshift binder--Kurt had mentioned he had left his good binder at home by mistake the previous weekend, so this would have to do for now--made up of a bandage of sorts, stretching from just beneath his shoulders to the middle of his torso.

Kurt knows he should remove it--keeping it on would not only chafe, but would be far too painful in the morning. A silent tear falls down his cheek as he moves to undo the clasp that keeps the bolt of fabric from unraveling; from revealing his secret.

"Wait." Blaine says, moving slowly across the room to stand in front of Kurt, raising up on his toes ever so slightly to kiss away the tear and it’s respective track. "Can I...?" He trails off, his fingers tracing along the material.

Kurt nods slowly, unsure of what to say. This is arguably the most intimate moment of his life; his binders having always been a shield of sorts, but if there was anyone he could let his guard down around, it's Blaine. Blaine...who doesn’t see breasts or a biological girl in front of him; just sees Kurt...just sees a boy.

“Tell me if you want me to stop, okay?" Blaine waits for another nod from Kurt before releasing the fastener. He knows what he's about to do requires a great deal of trust from the boy standing in front of him, so he unravels the wet fabric as slow as he can, studying Kurt's face for any warning signs that he should stop. Kurt never falters, however, watching Blaine unravel one layer at a time, unravel him one layer at a time. Blaine’s hands are gentle and move at a steady pace, occasionally brushing against Kurt's skin, the younger boy letting out an audible sigh as the compression on his chest and sides is relieved.

When the last of the binding material has fallen to the floor, Blaine catches a glimpse of what Kurt has been hiding all this time.

Kurt's breasts aren't necessarily big by anyone else's standards--Blaine guesses they're caught somewhere between an A and a B cup--but to Kurt, they must be like mountains, weighing him down and reminding him of what he really is instead of what he really wants to be. But he's gorgeous, whether he's Katharine or Kurt.

"Something wrong?" Kurt whispers, his soft blue eyes meeting Blaine's.

"No, I was just thinking how beautiful you are."

A bright red blush creeps across Kurt's cheeks. "You hush, Blaine Anderson."

"I mean it." Blaine reaches up, brushing the still damp hair off the brunette’s forehead. "You're shivering, do you want to put a shirt on or something?"

Kurt shakes his head, wrapping his arms around Blaine's bare torso, smiling when he’s instantly pulled in close. "This'll be fine."

Despite being caught in the rain, Blaine is warm, Kurt notes as he nuzzles into the crook of the other boy’s neck. He could get used to being close to Blaine like this, just skin on skin, without the expectation of anything more.

Kurt can't stop trembling now that he's completely exposed, goosebumps crawling across his skin. Being in Blaine’s arms though...it makes him feel safe, protected.

Blaine can feel Kurt’s continuous shivers, and frowns a little. “Come on, let’s go lie down under the blankets at least.” Pulling away from Kurt slowly, Blaine leads him over to the bed, lifting the comforter for his boyfriend to crawl under. Kurt does so, smiling a little as strong arms envelop his pale stomach a few seconds later.

Pressing his nose into the skin behind Kurt’s ear, Blaine presses lazy kisses against whatever skin his lips touch. He’s overwhelmed with a rush of euphoria, today was beyond perfect, and maybe that’s why he says what he does next.

“I love you, Kurt Hummel.”

He feels Kurt tense instantly, and draws back a little, closing his eyes. I just ruined everything, didn’t I? “Kurt, I’m sorry...don’t feel like you have to say it back just because I said it.” I do feel that way though. I do love you, every part of you.

After a long moment, Kurt turns around in Blaine’s arms, cupping his cheek and placing a tender kiss to Blaine’s lips. Resting their foreheads together, the younger man speaks quietly. “But what if I happen to love you too?”

Blaine’s heart swells so much, he thinks it might burst. “You do?”

Kurt nods slowly, tracing his fingers along Blaine’s side, keeping his eyes lowered. “I swear, my heart skips a beat every time I see you. When you touch me, even if it’s something as simple as holding my hand or brushing up against my side just because you want to be close to me, I forget how to breathe. Every time I get insecure or need reminding of who I truly am, you do that without fail or question.” Kurt pauses, taking a deep breath. “You see me for what’s in my heart and head, not what my body is and you still want...me. That’s all I could ever ask for from someone.”

It’s all Blaine can do not to smother Kurt in kisses from head to toe. Instead he settles for exchanging another set of “I love you’s” and sharing kisses before falling asleep next to the beautiful boy that has stolen his heart.
