I have horrible news. Apparently Cory Monteith was found dead in his hotel room tonight. I'm sorry everyone. :(

I woke up an hour ago to this on twitter...and I just...to quote Mark Salling's tweet "no" but I'm going to add !!!!!!!!

He was going to do interviews with Mia and Fox Upfront today.

He was getting married in two weeks.

Filming for Glee starts again on the 22nd.

Too young, too soon. He will be missed.



And to Cory Monteith:



I feel really guilty for being excited for today (Chris and Darren are also supposedly meant to do the interviews as well) because I was excited for a day in which Cory is dead in.

I can't help but wonder what this means for Glee, and more specifically to the character Finn. I kind of hope they will give him an off-screen happy ending. But a funeral might be a nice tribute to Cory...Way too painful though. Especially for Lea and his friends.

Speculation. I've seen a couple of tweets to that effect from silly young teens, nothing from anyone credible. I'd be very wary of perpetuating this gossip, Mockingj91. I completely echo your thoughts about what this will mean for the show.

My heart is just breaking for Lea and his family and friends, I can't imagine what they must be going through.

Ah (didn't see this until after I replied) I didn't pay attention to Lea and Cory's relationship and I heard ages ago that they got engaged. It never occurred to me to actually check if it was true or not because well...as awful as it sounds on a day like this, I didn't care. I just assumed those who were saying 2 weeks from now had actually paid attention and were speaking from credible sources themselves. *sigh* Highly annoying, sorry.

Oh god, don't worry sweetie! It's so easily done in this fandom, there's ALWAYS something rumoured, I thought HeMo being pregnant was false until I saw pictures. I didn't really pay attention to their relationship either but I'm guiltily addicted to entertainment sites and I never saw any reports on there.

Pretty sure it was confirmed that they were engaged...I never paid much attention to Cory and Lea's relationship but it seemed credible at the time.

It seems common knowledge on tumblr that they were getting married in 2 weeks time. I don't know how people knew when the wedding was but it's all over twitter/tumblr

Of course it may all/some be rumours *head desk*

Like I said I didn't pay attention so I never went looking to see if the sources were genuine or not, sorry.

There has been no confirmation they were engaged from any reputable sources. There have been a few things in the media recently that might make it prime for people believing such rumors. 1) Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner recently announced they were engaged and some of the articles reporting it included mentioning that Lea and Cory are also a real life couple. 2) Matthew Morrison recently made a comment about singing at Lea and Cory's wedding intended as a statement of his belief in the future of the couple and a few of the media outlets that repeated Morrison's quote used it as an opportunity to write some misleading teaser headlines.
