I don't like to call people liars, but Brad Falchuk is so full of shit. They're setting up a love triangle between Finn, Rachel, and Brody in the first episode. There's no way that Will and Emma's wedding won't be a huge part of Will's storyline. This is just a way to make sure that they don't have to do anything with Klaine and Brittana, even if they don't break them up. And they can't just change directions like this. Romantic relationships have been a huge part of the show since the pilot, and are the main draw for a lot of fans. The writers can't just shift gears and focus on something new and expect the audience to go along with it.. Fans won't appreciate it if the writers drop something that they're invested in.
The paranoid part of me thinks that this is how they're going to sidestep all the criticisms about their treatment of gay relationships. Now the gay characters either aren't together or aren't in the same states, and relationships aren't important, so anyone who complains is just being shallow.
Really? I only saw Matt's comments. Though it doesn't surprise me that the actors have no idea what's going on. But I don't think that this negates my point: Wemma is going to be a major part of Will's storyline this season. The only characters affected will be Kurt and Santana, whose relationships were either ignored or sidelined in season three. Santana and Brittany didn't have any scenes alone together, and Santana spent more time with Finn than with her girlfriend. None of Kurt's plotlines last year really involved Blaine; NYADA was mostly about Hummelberry, the school election was pointless but still didn't involve Blaine, Sebastian was Kurt's rival more than a potential love interest for Blaine, and he wasn't even mentioned as part of the Karofsky storyline in Heart and OMW.
And when Brad talks about every character getting individual development, he means Rachel, Finn, Kurt, possibly Santana, Sam, and the new kids. Artie and Tina won't do anything, Brittana will stop talking again, and Blaine will remain a human jukebox.
Ryan Murphy infamously said, late in S3, that there wouldn't be a Wemma wedding, which it seemed had initially been planned to happen in one of the final 3 episodes on S3. He only meant it wasn't happening in S3!
I'll be back at my uni! How the f... I'll be able to think about studying with bleeding wounds in my heart after seeing Kurt's tears??? Especially with 5 weeks hiatus! It's crazy, I'd prefer the whole show starting 5 weeks later with no hiatus.
Seriously! Relationships aren't important, but Kurt arranges his whole life around Rachel. I think Brad should've said that relationships that he doesn't personally care about won't be important.

Actually, there's a Ryan interview from upfronts where he said there will be no Wemma wedding this year. I don't think Matt got the message though.

EDIT: did he basically said that Tike will break up? They're not mentioned as another couple in LDR.

1- can we insinuate Klaine will break up? Yes? Run it
2- Is there a way to rile up the fans? Yes? Run it.
