Cafe Nostalgia
It's so weird. I listen to my mp3 player all day, at work and in transit to and from. It also has a radio receiver that I take full advantage of. Anyway, it strikes me the same way every time I hear a commercial for McDonald's iced coffee, though I've had this same thought for a long time. It just is recalled more often lately because of these commercials. It makes me smile.
This was back in the mid to late 1980's. My dad used to go into restaurants and order iced coffee. No big deal, right? Well, 20 years ago, they looked at him like he had something funny growing out of his face or something. We even had to explain, it's just coffee poured over ice, like iced tea. -Huh?- Just bring me a cup of coffee and a cup of ice, okay? I would say maybe it was just the server or something, but I remember it happening an awful lot. Now it's everywhere. Who knew my dad was so ahead of his time?
