I know this sounds kinda mean, but isn't Fai always suffering to some degree or another anyway?
I'm not sure but Seishirou likes a challenge and beating someone who's already down, probably didn't fulfill him and he probably really needed Kurogane or anyone else, because Fai just doesn't care what happens to him and didn't suffer genuinely enough to provide a satisfactory level of entertainment without him.

Wow, a monster of a sentence, I hope it's readable. Anyway, yes, poor poor Fai, his deepest fears coming alive. But damn, Sei-chan is an evil mastermind! You just have to give him credit, he even manages to make a masochist suffer for real!

...I'm not taking that seriously, sorry. xD

In regards to AU, I love it when it's a parallel spin to canon! Not that I ever finished anything anywhere else but in my head, but that's exactly my opinion, too, and I try to include the main points in regards to the character/plot development into every AU. Doesn't matter whether it's on a spaceship, in the jungle or some 1001 nights story.
I'm reading "His Dark Materials" for a seminar and I can't help but drawing parallels to Tsubasa. There are several possibilities and I never get tired of ways to mold this into a story that contains Tsubasa elements. Purely in my head. Writing in English is a pain, and the german fandom is a bit stale.

Hahaha! You've got a point there, it's almost too easy, isn't it? ;) But Seishirou has a goal in mind, he's not doing this for kicks. (Okay... not just for kicks.) Seishirou and his master want Ceres -- it's nice and rich with magic, full of tasty human souls and wizards... and something else they're looking for. But, they've never been able to get a foothold there, because of Yukito's wards and the inaccessibility of the location.

Seishirou can't control Fai directly, because Fai is a mage and can resist him in ways that Kurogane simply can't. But if Seishirou can break Fai's spirit and make him an empty shell, then he can use him as a vehicle to get back to Ceres and wreak havoc there. That's why using Kurogane as a lever to get at Fai -- who, after all, doesn't care enough about his own life for Seishirou to get his hooks into him -- is worth it to Seishirou to pass up his chance at revenge on Kurogane.

Goodness, a TRC/HDM fusion? That would make such an interesting story! It's a shame you don't really have any interest in writing it, because I'd definitely like to read it. (Fandoms that have gone stale are the saddest things, aren't they? ):

Well, I'm glad Ashura won't pursue the alliance any further. But he could be in trouble if Sei-chan were to break Fai... but since Kurogane is there, he'll keep an eye out for him.
...Considering they are Clamp character's that's probably the wrong phrase...>_>

I'll keep myself from asking about the other thing FWR and Sei are after in Celes, though I reckon it's the tunnel directly into the Nihon Palace.

And well, maybe I'll think of writing several one shot's for HDM/TRC, because I just can't decide who is who. My first idea was to make Kurogane the armored bear and Fai the aeronaut, that have a past together.
Then I read the second book and thought, Will might make a good Syaoran, but also might fit Kurogane, because Lyra is more similar to Fai than to Sakura. I'm still just trying wild ideas and several scenes. But writing them in German would be a waste, no one would bother to read. (Fandoms gone stale are a tragedy. Especially sad, if you are the only one who still cares.)
If I have to try in English, it'll probably take 2-3years to finish... I'd love to read a TRC/HDM crossover, but sadly nobody writes any. I'll finish the seminar first, afterwards I'll decide whether my ideas are concrete enough to give it a try or just leave it as daydreams.

Actually, it is not! They don't even know about that. :)

Not to put myself forward, but perhaps you could write just a scene or two illustrating the idea? If you can imagine something clearly, with all the characters together (I think Kurogane as the ice bear would be amazing!) then you could show what you like about the idea. Nobody would fault you for not wanting to write a 50,000 word epic in a secondary language!

It's not? Well in that case, you got me curious.^^

I guess I could manage some drabbles easily enough. If I like a particular idea I could always elaborate later, but I'm not sure I should start with epics.. I love them, but I never finish them. And yes, Kurogane as the Polar Bear is such a great picture! I even got several ideas for that..*g* ... gotta stop myself here for now though. I need sleep.

You aren't putting yourself forward, I'd try to weasel people into writing what I consider a good idea just as well. ^.~
In case I upload them to the comm, I expect a comment though!

Good night for now! (^o^)/
