The Denizens of Horsecity

Dec 04, 2010 19:38

I'm having a love/hate relationship with Singapore's weather.

The plus point is that the rain makes the day much cooler, lessons at the school get cancelled leading to Maria and I being able to goof around.

On the flipside, I don't get to ride, or when I do, the ground is just HOLEY. Also, I can't excercise my horses and ponies and I have to groom indoors. I hate grooming indoors, especially if the stall isn't mucked out yet. >______>

So anyway, I took some photos of the wonderful horses and ponies at Horsecity:
(Do forgive the proportions. I used Lj to resize all the photos)

This is Kimmie, the only Appaloosa in the stables. Very sweet nature and a wonderful all rounder. Unfortunately, she's also the only all-rounder in the stables.

Magnus, who belongs to a private owner. Just off the race-track. People like to call him ugly, but I beg to differ. He's just extraordinary.

Batman, who is quite nice too.

Batman's neighbour, Greystone, who is quite silly and gets all riled up when the flies come near. He starts kicking away.

Sharpy, another sweet mare who just had her fur clipped. She was originally chestnut in coat color, but now I don't know what color she is.:/

This is silly CV, who mimicked us when we tilted our heads to the side. He's quite frisky too, and a little nervous at times, but he can be a dear.

This is Mr Romeo, who's one of my favourites. The last time we turned him out, he bucked like mad because he wasn't used to his back shoes. He can be quite obedient, unlike other off-the-racetrack horses.

This is Fireball here giving you the evil eye. She's bombproof, methinks.

And this here is Nestle, who is being trained to be a jumper, since we have a serious lack of jumping horses here.

I'm not sure who this is... Ahahaha must be Rocky, who likes to kick and bite. Though, when he ridden, he's awfully nice. That is before you use the whip.

This is Puppy, the one-eared pony. Apparently he got into a fight with one of the pony stallions and got his ear injured.

Zorro, who likes to bite other horses and is a real stud.

This is Bella, the one and only falabella! She used to have a companion, but he passed away from colic. She's my favourite pony. She may be small, but she's older than I am.

Stallion, who is, ofc, a stallion. Very charming and striking eyes.

Misty, the Boss's favourite.  So far we've been using him for pony rides~

This is Blaze, the only pony I've ever lunged. I'm scared of ponies, because they're just too crafty. They make up for whatever they lack in the brawn department with brains.

This boy is Ben, another one of my favourites too, with my instructor Maria. He's really sweet, though unlike most horses, he doesn't like carrots. He's been resting for quite some time now, so I'm sad D':

This must be Oscar. There's some rash thing going on, so they all look sickly, but they're still as friendly as ever. Oscar's far too fast for me, so I don't really like riding him that much.

Idk who this is, but I'll call him Trickle for now. ^___^

Here is one of the resident cats sleeping on the carriage. A good choice since the back of the furnance has been taken up.

So anyway, I'll see what other photos I can post~
