Another year closer to death... morbid aren't I? Heh. Anyway, reached the big 2-6. x.x; Starting to realize how old I am and I don't know how I'm dealing with that. >.>; Anyway, nothing really to say about my birthday on the whole. Nothing special is going on today - not even a special dinner or cake (I'm actually having to cook tonight... x.x ). Ah well. The joys of getting older.
However, I did get a really awesome gift ficcie from my Sengoku, Dare-chan.
"Here kitty. Here! Nya! Don't go higher!"
Kikumaru Eiji tried to grab the tiny white kitten before it leapt up to another branch of the tree he was climbing, but he missed. Hoping that the branches of the old tree wouldn't give under his weight, he scaled up another one. Normally he wouldn't worry about a cat climbing a tree, but the kitten his older sister had gotten from her boyfriend for White Day was so small and a little clumsy that all of his siblings had come together to volunteer him to rescue it.
Now it if would just hold still so he could grab it.
Outside of the Kikumaru house, Sengoku Kiyosumi was uncharacteristically alone. Dateless. Solo. On White Day. It just wasn't his luck, he guessed, walking along the sidewalk. He'd gotten tons of chocolates for Valentine's Day. And he'd looked forward to having a ton of dates with cute girls today. Even a really cute guy would've done. He wasn't particular about gender, after all. But sometime between February and March, everyone had seemed to hook up with everyone else. All the girls had boyfriends, or other crushes. All the cute boys were taken. He hadn't even been able to flirt up the girl at the pastry shop he'd stopped by.
Meanwhile, Eiji was closing in on the kitten, straddling a branch and sliding across it on his belly. "Gotcha!," he crowed triumphantly, reaching out to the furball. The kitten, however, had other plans, and leaped gracefully over his hand, landing on top of his head. Then it continued down his body, back to the tree. Letting out a frustrated huff, Eiji sat up, swinging his leg over so he could turn around, when he heard a loud snap, and he let out a high pitched yelp as he went down with the branch.
Sengoku had been watching couples passing by across the street in envy. Where was his date? This was one of the most romantic days of the whole year and he was stuck by himself? Were the gods against him? Couldn't they grant him a cute angel to cuddle for just one day? Looking up at the sky, he thought to send up a prayer. And had to do a double take as he saw someone falling. Running, he caught the person just in time, and they crashed to the ground together. Eiji looked up, shaking his head, found himself sprawled in Sengoku's lap.
"...Nya?"
Sengoku stared back at the redhaired boy that had seemingly dropped out of the sky into his arms. And he was cute. "Lucky," he breathed, and cast a brief grin up into the heavens.
"Thanks!"
If anything awesome happens I'll update again - but it doesn't look like that's likely. -.-
