Authors Notes: My final entry for the contest at shunsui_nanao . I think I like this story best of all. I used three of the suggested prompts: beginnings, glisten/shimmer and Christmas is for lovers.

Authors Notes: So. Um. Yeah. I kinda lied in the authors notes for “The Quest For A Christmas Date” because when I told the story idea to a friend she went “Wouldn’t it have been cooler if Nanao got drunk” and this light bulb went off in my head, so this is my final entry in the contest at shunsui_nanao. I get the feeling I blew my chances at winning something by writing so many stories. But anyway, this is a prequel to “ Unexpected New Year’s Surprises,” set five years prior, though you don't need to read it first. I’m toying with the idea of doing a small series of New Year’s Eve fics with them, maybe. We’ll see.
