I've been meaning to draw a fanart of them from the moment I heard about the DN Sub Rose doujin game. Mary sues aside, I'm still fascinated by the setting.
Also, that sentence is something similar to what Ira (Mello) says in his character profile. I fell completely in love with that sentence, I find it extremely meaningful and revealing for canon!Mello, and the reason Mello couldn't exist in the world without Near... (*A*)
Mello's original design for the game didn't have any rosary, but I added it to enhance his religious self. In the age the game is based on, religion must have been especially tortuous for those troubled by their own nature.
