Gateway to work training- Day nine
Well we are finally nearing the end of this journey... or is it just the beginning? I still don't know if I will have to come back for other things or not. I think the decision is down to my advisor.
Today we were given an imaginary budget to go on holiday. We had £2,300 to buy a holiday, clothes, snacks, bags and toiletry's and we had to have enough money for spending when we get there.
I was working with my friend Kay again. We were done in half an hour and we managed to find everything on the list for £500. So we did quite well ^^
We went back to the classroom with an hour to spare. Joe wasn't in so we went back out and did more shopping XD
I bought the coolest sandals for £15 from Peacocks. They are like those old Roman style ones but they are black with metal studs on them. I got the last pair of size 8's :D
I also bought a pair of sunglasses for £4.
We did job searching for the rest of the morning. I found a job called a "Street scene operative". I had to find out what that was (because it sounds so cool) and I got a shock. A level 1 Street scene operative is a road sweeper. a Level 2 Street scene operative is a road sweeper who waters plants XD
My friend also noticed a job at Hooty's. I didn't even know they were still around *_*
I noted that the name sounds like Hooters (an American bar with scantily clad waitresses). A guy works at the training center said it would be fantastic if you could go to a shop where all the staff are topless. I said it wouldn't be so great if it was a charity shop run by an old lady XD I thing you can see where the conversation went from there. It pretty much ended in me being called a sick freak... yup that sounds like me :)
At lunch time we hung out with two guys. The one guy was been stalked by the weird slow girl. We had to run and hide from her XD
After lunch we did something really boring about achievement. One guy wrote down that he had lunged wildly at the pope, killed Heath Ledger and he was Mr Blobby. I can't remember what else he wrote ^^;;
The weird slow girl said some more funny stuff.
She said that she had a job in a nursing home that her mom had got her. She was looking after vegetables but she got the sack for being drunk... or they though she was drunk... it's hard to say, she told the same story twice but it ended differently each time O___O
