New Year's Resolutions

Jan 01, 2007 10:45

Well, another wasted year gone by, and a new one is starting. Why am I not hungover? Why was I not watching fireworks in a drunken state? Because all I do is work now, with no free time, and even if I had free time, I wouldn't have any money with which to enjoy it.

ANYWAY! In the words of the Counting Crows, "maybe this year will be better than the last"

In 2007 I resolve to:
1. Pick and finalize a real major/career
2. Work on building credit
3. Start saving up money to move out
4. Stop neglecting my loved ones
5. Exercise or do something active DAILY
6. Keep taking pictures and keep my DeviantArt updated
7. Read (real books, not just manga) more often
8. Find time to write every day
9. Rediscover an old interest (singing, acting, martial arts, etc)
10. Finish all my forgotten anime and tv series, and keep up on new ones

What a hodgepodge, eh? But I have a lot of improvements to make in so many different areas. Heh, that last resolution (as well as 7-9) may be a lot more fun than most people's resolutions...but you gotta have a few that are actually enjoyable to keep, right?

Happy New Year everyone, here's hoping it's better than the last.

A long December and there's reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better than the last
I can't remember the last thing that you said as you were leavin'
Now the days go by so fast

And it's one more day up in the canyons
And it's one more night in Hollywood
If you think that I could be forgiven...I wish you would

The smell of hospitals in winter
And the feeling that it's all a lot of oysters, but no pearls
All at once you look across a crowded room
To see the way that light attaches to a girl

And it's one more day up in the canyons
And it's one more night in Hollywood
If you think you might come to California...I think you should

Drove up to Hillside Manor sometime after two a.m.
And talked a little while about the year
I guess the winter makes you laugh a little slower,
Makes you talk a little lower about the things you could not show her

And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better than the last
I can't remember all the times I tried to tell my myself
To hold on to these moments as they pass

And it's one more day up in the canyon
And it's one more night in Hollywood
It's been so long since I've seen the ocean...I guess I should

long december, new year, resolutions
