Canon Background: Chrome’s life was lived very plainly, unlike how a 13-year-old girl should be. But through that, she managed to learn to live independently, without the help of even her own parents.
Through a flashback where Chrome’s parents were talking, Chrome was known as Nagi, a 13-year-old girl who lived a anti-social life. Due to an accident where Chrome was saving a cat and got ran over by a car, she lost her right eye and some organs and it was seen that neither of her parents could care less about her and there was not even a hint of parental love shown. They also didn’t care about if Chrome lived or not, and refused to donate her organs.
Their heartbreaking conversation was overheard by Chrome, who was still conscious in the hospital ward. However, Mukuro Rokudo then steps in the picture and is willing to help Chrome. The trade was that Mukuro would provide Chrome with illusionary organs which will then allow her to live on, and Chrome was to lend her body to Mukuro for him to get out of prison.
In the Varia Arc, Mukuro Rokudo was chosen to become the Vongola’s Mist Guardian. However, Mukuro Rokudo was still in Vendicare prison at that time of the battle, and thus, he needed to use Chrome’s body to communicate with others outside of Vendicare. Sawada “Tsuna” Tsunayoshi’s father, Iemitsu Sawada, was seen asking Mukuro to become Tsuna’s Mist Guardian, who was in Chrome’s body at that time. During Chrome’s battle, she was losing dangerously to her opponent, Mammon. Then, Mukuro stepped in to help her out with her battle, where Mukuro took control of her body and appearance as well. Mukuro defeated Mammon easily and reverted back to Chrome again. During the Sky Battle, Chrome is also called down, as she received a compulsory summon to attend the battle, but is later injected with a poison known as Death Heater before the battle started. That poison attacks the nervous system and makes even standing difficult. The burning, piercing pain will gradually increase, and in thirty minutes, the guardaians will die. As the Sky Battle risks the lives of Tsuna’s six guardians, as well as the rings, therefore, Tsuna must save the rest of his guardians. If he loses, the lives of all six guardians will also be lost as well. In the end, after the gruelling battle, Tsuna won the arduous battle, with his opponent, Xanxus, getting disqualified from the entire battle as he was not of Vongola blood. There, Tsuna’s six guardians, including Chrome, became the actual Vongola guardians.
In the future arc, Chrome faces Glo Xinia at Kokuyou Land, where her 10 years’ older self was residing and her only way out alive is to defeat the enemy. Therefore, with the aid of her Mist Vongola Ring, and 10 years’ older Mukuro Rokudo’s help, she managed to escape by defeating Glo Xinia. In her furious battle, she created illusions - of Mukuro, Ken and Chikusa. Her illusion took form of humans due to her strong resolution and were the ones which helped her to get out of the battle. She fainted shortly after that, due to malnutrition and her injuries from the battle, and Sasagawa Ryohei brought her to the Vongola Underground Base. She takes treatment there, but then, her condition fell for the worse with her internal organs were malfunctioning. That is till Hibari Kyouya, whom instructed Chrome then to take the power from her Vongola Ring and created her own organs, with her own illusionary powers. Shortly after her near-death experience, Chrome found herself in a dream, where she happens to be looking for Mukuro Rokudo. The dream was full of gears and a 10 years younger Irie Shoichi appears, then transforms into a 10 years older Irie Shoichi. Chrome then shouted for Tsuna’s help and Tsuna was apparently dreaming about the same thing.
During the Millefiore Melone base infiltration, Chrome appears after Melone base is being rearranged by Irie Shoichi, with his box weapon. Then, Chrome uses her illusions not only to hide herself and Hibari from Millefiore people, but also to gain access to a map of the base’s new layout as well.
Ten Years Later: Chrome is slightly more extroverted now. Still, she would be considered as quite shy. She had illusionary powers before, and she’s still coping with the loss of her powers pretty well.
Job/Career: Probably a pet store shop assistant.
