Unofficial Animé Club blog: I held the president hostage.

Sep 06, 2008 22:42

There was an event at the Osaka Garden in Chicago. Apparently Osaka is one of Chicago's sister cities, so we have a garden and an animé night in honor of that. I first heard of it in my Japanese class, but since my teacher endorses the Animé Club as well, some folks from that came, too.

Don't let that cute face fool you;  Kimba is psycho.

How, you may ask? Let's see...

- He tried to turn the carnivores vegetarian. This would lead to overpopulation of herbivores, even WITH farming. Ultimately, a lot more suffering than good would come from lack of carnivores.

- He got the animals into farming, thus destroying their natural habitat after a few centuries.

- Animals now talk to people as a sort of peace contract, despite the fact that such a feat would not be allowed by their vocal chords.

- Kimba somehow stole his father's pelt and talks to it. Yeah.

And so on. It's a good way to do things if you're ruling people, but animals? There are certain biological differences, Kimba.

K, I should watch the One-Horned Flying Purple People Eater do her thing, now.

And I held the club president hostage.
