After approx. an hour-long bus ride from hotel -> airport -> another hotel, we (my family and I) had lunch and met up with some friends of my mom's. Kinga-san likes snakes, apparently, and called me a "snake priestess." We'll see if she gives me copies of those documents she has concerning snakes...:3
Anywho, first tourist trip was Akihabara. I totally nerded out here and wandered into any shop that looked like it might have animé. This included an unintentional stop in a porn shop. Here are my general findings, as of June 13, 2008 (yes, it's still Friday here):
~LOTS of Ultimate Muscle. I have no idea why it's so popular here, but the amount of space it occupied at the Animé Center outclassed Naruto and Bleach put together. Those two only got spaces smaller than a wallscroll. Apparently there was a new DVD release that came with a lotta little figures, but...Damn. XD
~Got Pokeymanz stickers. Anyone who gets stuff from me shall receive some.
~People know who Tezuka is, here!
indigo_flames, I got you a Hi-no-Tori. *Nodnod.*
~Rozen Maiden seems to have died, as I found no merch for it. Didn't find any for Claymore, either.
~There is a Ragnarök Online card game. 24 bucks for a starter...Mehhhh, I want Zealotus as a single card, kthx!
~ YGO has hawt sleeves. Despite my resolution to quit, I couldn't resist splurging and got a Japanese "Red Daemon's Dragon," one of the few 5D's dragons that actually makes some logical sense.
~Haruhi had stands. EVERYWHERE. There was even a girl cosplaying as Haruhi. I don't know why Tsuruya's so popular, but she had an omnipresent catgirl figure, nyoro~n.
~I'm getting tempted to cosplay Kurumu (from Rosario+Vampire).
~I did see a few maids, but mom doesn't wanna go into maid cafés. Hopefully she'll have no choice in Kyoto...MWAHAHA!
