(no subject)
So I opened up a document that I haven't looked at for the better part of the last year. The story isn't finished, so I need to do that first, but I'm thinking that I have essentially lost where I was going. Hence why the story isn't finished I guess. The problem is this is 66,000+ words already, that's a lot of words to just throw away on a whim.
So I guess the answer to this is: figure out where the story is going and finish it so that you can come back and edit. I have just under three months to get something together for the Emerging Writers' Contest through Amazon.com. The submissions start in Feb. Then I've got two promo codes for vanity copies of my books, which are good until March and June respectively. Time crunch coming. I can feel it. I have got to get my rear in gear.
In other news: living in Louisiana is fine. We went to the Ren Faire yesterday in Hammond. I enjoyed myself immensely and would happily go again. I met the guy that I've been trading emails with for six months and he's just as sweet in person. Things appear to be looking up for me. Not so sure about this job that I took up, so I'm looking at finding another. As much as I like stay at home work (it gives me time to work on these novels), I'm not so good with the idea that this might be shady and my name is mixed into it.
So yeah, things progress. I feel different not constantly having to deal with one or both of my parents. My father has called to check on me, as has my mother because it's a given that they will do these things and it's been a good while since I even attempted to live on my own. I'm not sure if the disasters that I had in college even count since I was living in a dormitory, but oh well...a story for another hour.
