I guess 2008 wasn't so bad after all

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Wow, where to begin... I successfully completed a half-marathon.
I went on a cruise, flew in a plane, and made it to the West coast all in a matter of two weeks.
I graduated from College - In 4 years, even.
I moved into an apartment, and away from home.
With real roommates and even my boy.
I bought a dog.
I got a full time job.
I felt genuinely at home with someone I'm with.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I think the only thing I had set my mind on doing at the beginning of 2008 was graduate from college and move out of the house. This year I have a couple of the usual kind, keep in shape, learn something new, get out of school debt.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Cousin got pregnant again, but no baby yet. Their first one just missed it, though!

5. What countries did you visit?
Canada

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
There is something shiny I'd like to have, but it isn't necessary for me to be happy.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My puppy! Oh! And Teal'c my '03 Alero!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My boyfriend - for continuing to remind me in new and surprising ways every day why he is amazing. My parents - for seeing past their disappointment in my decision to move out when I did, and, in time, just appreciate my visits.

A few people I had such great hopes for but became utterly disenchanted with.

Stick with it. Coffee is not a sufficient source of oxygen.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and I laughed

I guess what I be saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanities and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do, our name is our virtue

But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours
