Here, There, Everywhere
Well, not quite... but it certainly feels like it.
Myself, my boyfriend, and my family all survived a trip to middle-of-nowhere North Carolina and back, woohoo! There were a few times I thought mom might suddenly fry a few people with the evil eye, but all in all, for what it was, it wasn't too bad. We successfully learned how to clean dirt and hunt for mildly shiny, and theoretically valuable shiny rocks! We all found a little bit of garnet, and Corundum (if it's red, it's ruby, if it's any other color (mainly blues) it's sapphire), and a little emerald, too. They don't look like much, but they could potentially be cut into faceted stones, which, in my book, is pretty cool.
Last week, we married off Andy and Steph ::little tear:: everyone's growing up and gettin' hitched and movin' to the big city. But I hope they have a good honeymoon and get some well deserved relaxation.
As for myself, I work tomorrow evening and then head straight over to Patrick's to pack and prepare to embark on an epic journey to Seattle, WA and then Alaska on Wednesday! I'm excited, a little apprehensive about the whole plane thing, and hoping it will be awesome as I think it will!
