[Manjoume's Sphere decides to turn on and follow him as he's returning to his room from a trip to level 15. Apparently a successful trip, too, because he's carrying a bag of various grocery-like things. He's also carrying a staff that may be familiar. [Oliver is sitting in a field of red floors that seem to have sprouted in his room. he's laughing...very openly. perhaps a bit too openly] Never heard of that holiday! But you should've seen it when it happened the first time. Stuff rained on you every time you walked in a room for days!

[kuroi_sanda]

It's a festival held at Duel Academy every year, in honor of the spirits of the monsters. I [the tiniest of pauses here, but it's only noticeable if you're listening for it, really] didn't participate in it this past year, but the year before that, the Osiris Red dorm held a cosplay duel for it.

[He keeps attempting to brush all of the glitter off, though somehow it seems to be rather adamant on staying in his hair. He's too irritated to comment on the flowers, even if he finds them odd.] Every time you walked into a room for days, huh. Somehow, I'm not surprised. If this ship can find a way to annoy someone, it will.

[oliverplus]

Oh yeah, it's wizard at that. 'Course, that used to be all it did--little stuff. Annoying stuff like raining confetti on your head. And Roman knucklebones! Which kinda hurt, but it wasn't bad. [frowns] The ship sure did change quick.

You're talked about those monsters of yours before! But I thought you said you were one of the only ones who can see the spirits? Like your uh...Oji-whatsit Yellow friend.

[kuroi_sanda]

And not for the better.

[He's still dusting himself off.] Just because there aren't that many people who can see them doesn't mean they don't exist. And it's not like the spirits don't have any effect on the world - there are some that have managed to take physical form, at times. In general, most people at least acknowledge the possibility of their existence.

[oliverplus]

Nope, not at all. But hey, at least we're finally getting close to getting outta here. Don't you think?

Ohhh, so everyone in your world believes in them! That's cool. And wow, you must be special if you're one of the only ones who can see them. [blinks thoughtfully] Or that they choose to show themselves to. No...maybe that sounds too much like a movie. Then again, real spirits! How much more like a movie can you get?

[kuroi_sanda]

We can hope, at least.

[He averts his gaze - it's hard to tell if the way he does so is more of his being irritable, or if it's more avoidance than anything. His next words are said somewhat quieter.] If only parts of it were just a movie or something.

[oliverplus]

[blinks] But I thought you cared about those spirits of yours?

[kuroi_sanda]

They're loud, annoying, and like to make it their job to get me annoyed. It's impossible to sleep around them without earplugs, and if it's more than just the three Ojamas making noise you can forget about it anyway. But it's not that I'd rather not be able to see them.

[oliverplus]

Wow. That sounds...really weird.

[blinks, a thought occurring to him that, under normal circumstances, he definitely wouldn't share, but...] Is that why you avoid people so much? Because your spirits are usually enough for you?

[kuroi_sanda]

[That makes Manjoume pause briefly, after which he shrugs a little.] Among other reasons, if you want to put it that way, I guess.

[oliverplus]

That makes sense. What kinda other reasons? You miss out on a lot, you know!

[kuroi_sanda]

I've just never been all that great around people, and a lot of other crap has happened that hasn't helped.

[oliverplus]

Yeah? Well, we won't bite. Why not give socialising a go while you're here? What've you got to lose?

[kuroi_sanda]

You say it as though it's that easy.

[oliverplus]

[taps his sphere, which probably looks rather amusing from the other end] It's not like you don't have us at the touch of a button.

That's not what I meant.
