Boston + Job

Well, i'd just like to say.... haha, bet you weren't expecting a post today! I made it *just* in time.

So today was... well, I'll start from yesterday.
Mom and I arrived in Boston around 8pm or so.... we watched Joan of Arcadia (which, btw, is being canceled next season because they realized that their audience was much older than what they targeted-- well DUH; how many teenagers watch a show on Friday night instead of going out???) and then we met w/ Kathy (one of mom's friends who graduated w/ her from MIT) and went to the Naked Fish.

Mmm... Naked Fish is a good restaurant-- if you ever happen to be in Westborough, MA (near Worcester), I totally recommend it.
So Mom ordered a Harvey Wallbanger just so I could taste it and see what Galliano tastes like. It's actually very good!

Then today we went to the MIT technology thing.... but I only watched a couple talks. I mean, it was just too nice outside for me to sit indoors and listen to talks about bioengineering (which I admit is an interesting topic, but not my expertise....).
I was going to read outdoors..... but I just couldn't! I just sat outside and just watched and absorbed everything. I really like the energy MIT has. I mean, it's not my type of school (I do prefer liberal arts), but I just really like the vibe I get from it. I guess that's why I always want to go to Boston for the weekend while I'm at MoHo- I just really miss the feeling of being somewhere that has a lot of energy.

So we had lunch at Felipe's Taqueria in Harvard Square, then dessert at Finale's (yum!), then shopped at the Galleria, then drove home.

Once home, I changed quickly and headed to the Holiday Inn for my job orientation..... basically I just watched a video about Room Service, got shown around, and was given my scheduel for the next week.
You know what my shift is?
7-3 tomorrow, Tuesday, Wednesday, and next Sunday. And I mean 7 AM!! Ugh..... waking up early. OK, I can do this....
Well, ok, anyway... I'd better be gettin' ready for bed.
