Super Excited!
So, as I may have mentioned before, my laptop took a swan diver and crashed. When I turn it on it tells me it detects NO hard drive. O_o; I was pretty sure there was one in there... Needless to say, I was kind of upset. I say "kind of" because I never really put anything on there that I wasn't backing up.
Except one thing... T_T
Deep Love ~ Second Year was being written COMPLETELY on that device alone. This makes me very upset because I don't have a backup. What am I to do? (Actually, since I'm a technician I can just take out the hard drive, plug it into another computer and get the file. I just don't want to do this until I get a new laptop and know that that one's not needed.)
So my dad called my aunt who gave me the laptop and asked for the user's manual but, she didn't know where it was and called my uncle. My uncle called my dad and after some round-about conversation, he pretty much agreed to front the bill for a brand new one. The only catch is that it had to be just about $500.
So my dad and I did a little research and found three good ones: Dell's Inspiron, Compaq's Presario CQ50Z; and Toshiba's Satellite A205-S5000. The Dell and Toshiba are $499.99 and the Compaq is $449.99. We're actually going to go with the Toshiba. Although we were going to chose the Compaq. Anyway, I called my uncle and told him and he said that it was cool.
All I have to do now is go to a store, call him and have him give them his credit card and all that, and BAM! I get a new laptop! ^__________^ I am so happy; you've no idea.
So, anyway, I'm working on Faroth's Birthday picture.
We're not going to YasumiCon today since it appears to be nothing more than a "pre-registration only" event day.
