Summary: Fai bleeds, and Kurogane tells him what it means.

Love is.
Fai bleeds. Far, far beneath that charming smile and ever-warming aura he bleeds, bleeds for the shifting shadows left behind in a country swept in snow, bleeds from the shattered fragments of his past so long ago which he cannot piece back together again. He bleeds now for a boy and his princess, for a white bundle of liveliness and joy, and for Kurogane, who holds every one of them together by a fine, fine thread. He bleeds for them - for his four traveling companions who have somehow wormed their way into his tender heart, lodged themselves there and refused to come out.
Fai bleeds, and Kurogane feels more than sees it, feels more than knows it. But that is what Love is, he tells him once, bluntly, and surely even a fool like you knows what it means to love.
Fai smiles, and it is sad, but knowing, resigned and beautiful.
Kurogane has never been wrong.
