So often we let our dreams fall away, but not this time

Sitting in that IHOP last night with my friends who I hadn't seen in so long, I felt something very profound. Before I left, I had kept telling myself that I had moved on from Amber, and that she wasn't affecting me anymore, and that I was a different person. Well, last night, I finally believed it.

I'm free.

I want to thank every single person who ever helped me out of that situation. Whether you're reading this or not, just know that you've performed a service to me that I don't believe I can ever fully repay. But I'll try.

There will always be some part of me that will remember her, and that is a part of me that I've accepted as a tortured and scarred part of my soul. I accept that part of me, but it isn't me.

I won't be controlled by her actions.

Only I will determine who I am.
