Occupation↔ Kurogane is a trained Vampire Hunter from birth. His family is a longline of Vampire Hunters from Japan. However, in the day and his offtime Kurogane owns a shop along side Fye D. Flowright. The shop is anoccult/magic/new age book store of sorts. It houses all sorts of oddsan ends from books, scrolls, potion ingredients, crystals, crystalballs, and even weapons ( of the Japanese kind ), but Kuro tends not tosell off his weapons. He's a little attached to them. The shop iscalled the Arcane Athenaeum.
Personality↔ Kurogane is a very short tempered and brash. He is extremelyaggressive, especially when it comes to combat. He always likes to pushhis limits and is eager when it comes to fighting a strong opponent. Soeager in fact, he is easily caught up in battle. Hunting Vampires onlyincreases his competitive nature, because these are some of thestrongest creatures on the planet. Much stronger than men, but it wouldseem he hasn't met his match yet. Even among vampires they all seem tofall against his blade. Kuro can see rather the villain at times, hecalls shots like he sees them - even if that means leaving people andcomrades behind. Hunting is a tough life, and he's seem countless ofpeople die in his day at the hands of vampires. He feels if you can'thandle then you should just get out of the way. However, Kurogane isn'tall bad ... beneath the ruff and gruff exterior he actually does have asofter side. He's insanely loyal if you can earn his friendship, soloyal that he would put his life on the line for you. Its getting himto own up and admit those feelings that's the difficult part though.
Brief History↔ Kurogane was born in Japan to a long line of Vampire Hunters. Hisfather, his father's father, and his father's father father (etc) allhunted vampires. From a young age he was trained by his family to huntand kill the creatures of the night that plagued their land and thecountry of Japan. From the beginning their family was always at warwith the surrounding Vampire Clans. Keeping them at bay, protecting theinnocent, and ensuring lands and Lords were safe. When Kurogane wasnine years old however, everything changed. The Vampires fed up mountedan assault on his families lands and during the battle that ensuedeveryone was killed. Kurogane survived thanks to his Mother whosacrificed herself for his life. Kurogane was later found by one of thecity state lords and taken into their custody. It took him a while toget over the night, sometimes he still sleeps restlessly over it, butits something he never divulge about himself. Ever.
Hetook on a brave face, and went to work for the Lord of the City. He wasasked to watch ( and play ) with his Daughter, and over time theydeveloped an odd friendship. However, when Kurogane was old enough shetold him his place place was not at her side but elsewhere. He wasgiven enough money to set out on his own and his sword. He never didlook back, and he hasn't returned to Japan since. He was 18. Kuroganespent the next few years traveling Japan and falling back into oldfamily habits. He was hired by towns people to kill Vampire menaces,and eventually his travels brought him to Tokyo and then Hong Kong.
InHong Kong, Kurogane decide to expand on his training and techniques. Hetook shelter in temples and in the streets of the city, and in betweenhunting jobs he did odd ends around the town. Whatever, he could to geta bite to eat. One night out on a hunting job, Kurogane had a run inwith another hunter. This hunter wasn't like any he had met before, andthere were only so many words he could use to describe the blond man hemet that first night ( annoying, idiotic being two of his favorites ).They were after the same mark, and Kurogane didn't take too kindly tohaving competition. After a lot of arguing, they parted ways ... but itwasn't the last time they would met. The man, Fye D. Flowright and himmet more over the next few weeks and the more times they met, the moreit took to get away from him. Kurogane still isn't sure how ithappened, but somewhere between their first meeting and their last -they became 'partners' and they have been together ever since. Theyhave a rather precariously relationship to say the least - but theymake a rather dynamic duo.
The pair left Hong Kong andcontinued to travel west across the rest of Europe, until they arrivedin London. They stayed there a while, stockpiling artifacts and booksthey had collected over their years together. Eventually, the pairtraveled to America and set up a base in Virgina Beach. Their cover byday is an occult/new age book store named, Arcane Athenaeum. They beenthere for a few years now, but they still travel a lot depending onwhere work calls them. They also share an apartment directly above thebook store.
